In this economy it's good to see he found a place to work :)

On a side note - I hope I never trip balls that much if I do lsd/acid again. That would haunt me forever! Water coming from no where, floating crystals, that's some government experiment shit right there!

Edit - Fuck top of the page..

Ooh, fancy. I like the...no, it's not really a fresco...whatever one would call the large carving on the wall. xp

never tried lsd, it's on my bucket list though....

did you draw the carving, or is it a rip? i like how all your tilesets look similar. it's really distracting to see frankensprites in tilesets.

you awaken in the intestinal tract of satan. you must defeat the hydra to escape. your only weapon is righteous anger.

Part of the character. He's holding a torch.

Edit - Updated the screenshot to make it clearer.

Edit 2 - Since it's my Birthday I decided to take one quick screenshot before I went off to my exam.

i like how the title looks like a cutout. it's a really neat technique.

This is a new town I'm working on. it's starting to dawn on me that i need to get a move on with redrawing the tilesets. they're all very similar. i think i'm going to put in brick paths instead of the dirt ones, to make it kind of like a mining town. it's still very bare bones as of now, and it will probably change a bunch before it's done. I usually start with a small map, and make it bigger as I draw the tiles on.

Edit: Trimmed it down considerably.

Looks quite nice. It's just a shame the water tiles make the river look zig-zaggy, but it may not be as bad in the game when you're not seeing the whole thing at once.

Some of this stuff looks great. Love the chipsets you're using Tau.

Really nice to see the progression of the mining town too. Good work.

RMXP. Also, here's the overall map. It's not a screenshot, perse, but... It's relevant to my above post.

Waters Edge Preview

So what have I been up to:

* Implemented a running system into DT which looks very nice if I say so myself.
* Finished up some sprites but am looking for help making battle characters as I suck at animating and creating the necessary sprites for animating.
* Reworked the story so it comes across better.
* Added a new video of the area Waters Edge(That's not the whole area, just some of it)
* Two new screenshots and a revised older one which you can all gawk at.
* Haven't started yet but will be redoing like the first hour or so of the game to match up with newly written story.
* What started out as a simple experience is slowly becoming more so, which I like and regret at the same time.

If I'm being perfectly honest here.. I don't work on the game as much as I used to. Ever since I got my diploma I've been trying to either focus on work or getting ready for next years course which is much harder and a lot more serious. Have no fear I will be updating, well at least trying to more often.

Thanks for looking and check out the new stuff!

To embed things you need the like, correct URL, or whatever. Youtube tends to add a bunch of junk to URLs for some reason. I fixed it for you though.

Anyways~

I like it. It's neat. The lantern thing is something I've never seen before, and it makes sense. Although I think it's kind of disorienting a bit due to how fast it moves, and I feel like if I was actually playing I'd get dizzy...but maybe that would encourage me to move slower? I don't know, but it is super neat.

You might consider making that run toggle sound less obtrusive. That aside, the game is looking great. The lantern adds an interesting effect and, like Monkey said, would probably encourage people to take their time getting through caves. =p

Hey thanks guys. There's been a lot of debate regarding the wobbliness of the lantern effect. I have brightened it up a little and I guess I can tone down the sound effect a little, make it quieter.
