Nobody was running, but there were periods of brisk walks thrown in every so often. And a lot of peeking through doors. And comparisons of ties.
What are you watching?

Daria is on Amazon instant now. I'd get excited, but what would be the point of that?

This is a post in which I hate How I Met Your Mother's ending.
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

There's some interesting thoughts there, but no, it's a bad ending. I don't know how much of the show you've seen but...
Spoilers, but at this point if you don't know you probably don't care anyways.
So basically the show just betrays itself and the characters. I don't think the intention or the idea behind the ending is bad, I think it's really quite interesting, but it was an ending made for the show at an earlier time, a time before the past couple of seasons (and even if they would have tacked it on to last season's ending, it would have been better there).
The show does two things that it shouldn't have this last season. A) Proves that Tracy is the ideal woman Ted has been looking for forever. B) Lets Ted literally with terrible effects let go of Robin, multiple times (which is super played out throughout the history of this show to begin with). Honestly, it would have been better not to spend all season at the wedding and show more of Tracy/Ted's relationship to prove that they weren't ideal and fairy tale ending perfect. Although you could argue that the narrator (Ted) is unreliable in this aspect, and thus why you never see anything bad in respect to their relationship...and because of the ending Ted/Tracy's relationship isn't the point of the show.
They could have also not given us multiple story-lines over the past two years (there's more than that if you go beyond it, but the immediate is more important) over how Robin and Ted should not be together and how Ted is letting her go. It doesn't feel right to have Ted's character grow (and in some sense, Robin's) out of that relationship only to have it end with it. You could argue that part of the point of the show is that people don't really change all that much, look at Barney. But in Barney's story he only goes back to being who he normally is after Robin and him break up. He didn't change for the sake of changing, like Ted is supposed to. Ted doesn't grow out of Robin because of something else, Tracy isn't in the picture for him until the last episode. Barney, however, grows because of Robin. The only reason he'll commit himself to a woman (whether it be Robin, Nora, or Quinn) is because of Robin. Without Robin, or any hope of Robin, there is no more change for Barney to have, so it makes sense for him to go back to his natural state. The only time he does change is when he sees his baby daughter. Ted though, changed for other reasons, true growth in character. And it's a shame to just have that torn down.
I think the ending would have been awesome earlier on in the show. It would have made more sense. If you want to argue the artistic angle the show shouldn't have outlived it's preconceived ending in the first place. Art grows, and this piece outgrew the ending the creators sought for it. Not to mention, it wasn't even that surprising. It's been a fan theory for years, and reinforced by episodes earlier in the season. So all in all it's all kind of meh, and it kind of has ruined reruns for me (as I was watching earlier this week on Netflix and was like bleh at anything Robin/Ted related).

I just finished Rome season 1. I'm dying inside. :( NIOBE, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

You mean robin is joining the cast? That is awesome, I wish I kept up on that show.
I have been watching game of thrones, silicon valley, and adventure time.
It took me a moment to make the name connection, but yes! I don't know if she'll be in it for multiple eps or not (she made a cameo in episode 1) but she's definitely showing up next week. The finale is in 2 episodes; sounds like a perfect time for a binge. ;)

It's been a while since I last watched a Miyazaki film. I should do something about that.
You should fix that and watch The Wind Rises. So good.
