But war wasn't an option. D: There was no other option. The griffons were just going about their lives, when the ponies came in- one of them acting like a jerk towards every griffon they meet- to make them change their ways. The message of the story is really more like 'forget your heritage and culture- just do it our way!'

Aw...I dunno how much any of you pay attention to the writers of each episode, but I just found out that Amy Keating Rogers (who wrote the most recent one plus some great stuff like Pinkie Pride and A Friend in Deed) is leaving the show after this season. It seems she got hired on full time by Disney, so I supposed that's understandable.

Right? Every time something happened, I said, "This is the best thing!" Then something else great would happen, "No, this is the best thing." And the whole episode was pretty much that, over and over.

Background characters will maybe start to become more prominent this season? Like, there were clips of the mane six apart from each other but hanging out with bg ponies, and Twilight says something like, "Let's go make new friends!"

I don't see why, Nowacking is not that good at delivering lines. She always sounds kind of forced. :/ But that'd be cool if BG characters became more prominent, though. I'd love to see if Doctor Hooves can in fact manipulate time. :p I've heard rumors that they might get their own spin off show, too, but I kinda doubt it (and I'm not sure I'd like that anyway).

And it's not that Nowacking is a particularly amazing actor. She's just...the voice of Vinyl. I can't think of a single time I've heard her with a different voice.

an official spin off. :p Still pretty sure her silence has nothing to do with that. Her voice isn't so unique that a professional voice actor couldn't mimic it, but on top of that, Hasbro could probably hire an amateur voice actor pretty easily if they were concerned about that. Plus it's not like any of the other BG characters don't have popular youtube voice actors, but that didn't stop them from sticking with Tabitha St. Germaine for Derpy, as opposed to going with BaldDumboRat (though Derpy's current voice *does* sound a lot like the voice BaldDumboRat gave her).

I do rather like the newer voice they're using for Derpy - or Muffins, as the credits name her. At first I was upset that they changed it from Tabitha, but that was less about liking the old voice and more the fact that they changed it at all (and removed her name). I actually prefer the replacement voice now. xp

 

As for Vinyl, I assume it would be problematic for Nowacking to continue voicing fan works if she was hired to do work for the actual show. But I admittedly know next to nothing about the legal side of such things, so iono.

 

In a completely separate matter regarding the episode, I've been trying to figure out...

...that changeling that's randomly at the wedding. I suppose Cranky traveled enough that he could have befriended one years ago and decided to invite it to his wedding...maybe?

Oh,I didn't read the credits, so I hadn't realized they changed the voice actor for Derpy- online she's still credited as the sole VA of Derpy. But yeah, that random changeling. XD I guess just to show they still exist, I guess? I 'unno.

That was my first thought. I just came up with it being an acquaintance of Cranky upon rewatching.
 
As for Tabitha voicing Derpy, I didn't actually notice the credits myself. I just heard somebody mentioned her being named Muffins in a commentary video.

Apparently today was the last episode before the show goes on hiatus, with no hint as to how long that will last. =(

I would guess that they need some time to catch up after working on the movie or some such, but iono.
