I do really like this show but I find it really confusing why the focus so much on some of the more boring and inconsequential characters like the Baratheons. More time should be spent with Littlefinger & Vaerys (Spider).
Nah, you're not supposed to know what Petyr and Vaerys are up to, so it would just ruin it if they focused on them too much. As it is, the series already focuses extra time on them, so any more and I think it'd be difficult to keep them as mysterious as they're supposed to be. Whereas the stuff with the Baratheons is actually building up to something we should know about, so they're going to have to focus on them.
I'm curious, have you read the books Kaye? Are you saying this based off of the books or just based on what makes most sense thematically?
Yeah, I have read the books, all but the fifth anyway, which I have yet to get my hands on.

This might not belong here but...
What in the world is an Onion Knight? I know it's a recurring job class in the Final Fantasy universe since 3 and it's also the nickname of Davos apparently.
Is this just some weird coincidence?

It isn't anything really. In Final Fantasy I think it refers more to like a Hedge Knight. Someone who doesn't belong to a particular family, and has to freelance out his skills. In GoT, Davos is the Onion Knight because he helped a town under siege by bringing them onions.
Old flash signature has been revived for nostalgic purposes. Too bad RpgWizard hasn't been revived. :\

It is just odd that it's a coincidence.

I thought so too and that's why I did "extensive" research on the subject. That's all I came up with.

So I'm half way through season 2 now and (spoilers on what I think, although I doubt anyone reading this is behind like I am):
I don't think Daenerys is really all that boring this season (and also I changed my mind on her, she was pretty tough in the latter half of season 1). Maybe I'm more intrigued by dragons and Qarth than I am her, but besides her wandering around the desert which was very this, I don't hate her story line. But the desert part was pretty ugh worthy.
I don't even care about the Nightwatch.
It makes me mad Renley died so suddenly. I liked him.
I still love Arya. Her and Tyrion's plot lines are the most interesting. Also kind of want to change my name to Demon Monkey and have a picture of Tyrion.
Anything involving the war is so boring. Greyjoy was becoming one of my favorite characters but now he's in the boring isles of boredom and incest. (or leaving it now, I guess)
I miss Ned and Robert.

BEAN! I'm so sorry! I knew I should have posted something before it saying, "DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED MOST CURRENT EPISODE."
...I'm sorry Bean.

they make them look so inviting and click-able. You just think to yourself "I'll just take a glimpse to see what it's a spoiler in regards to..." and BAMM! That's how they get you!

I dislike having to wait for new episodes. I've been spoiled by Netflix and Hulu.

I have read all the book and loved them, but haven't had a chance to check out the show yet. I have heard they are pretty on point with the books besides a few small differences. I'm just not sure if I wanna spend the time to watch so many long episodes when I already know the story. If anyone hasn't read the books and is looking for a great series I would recommend checking them out.

ugh, I know.
I was on Tumblr (which I don't very often do anymore) and fuck all if it wasn't just full of spoilers from tonight's episode.

I think you should, I mean I don't have the experience of reading the books and then watching the show but regardless it's such a good story I would find it worth a retread over a different medium. When I get the chance I'm certainly going to read the books.
I finally watched the last two episodes of season 2. Jesus Christ, the penultimate episode was just fantastic. I'm so glad this is on HBO and has a huge budget. I know people complain about the high DVD/digital episode prices, but damn does this not feel like a show that actually deserves it. Mainly because, what do I care? I'm going to download it anyways. Unless they actually made HBO Go easily accessible, I would not be against paying for it like I do Netflix, if only because of the ease. Plus I'd probably finally get around to watching The Wire.
I'll probably power through the past few episodes tomorrow if Bee is willing. She was waiting for me to catch up. Which took me a while because as much as I love this show, it's not exactly captivating all the time. I can easily not watch it...unless the action has picked up and is crazy, which is why I saved the last two episodes of season 2 for a time where I could sit down for two hours and do nothing but watch it..
Annnnnnnd anyways, as much as the sometimes that I dislike Daenerys, she is really a roller-coaster of a plot. I'm either incredibly disinterested in her or super interested in her. Which is very much unlike everyone else in the story, who I'm either completely interested in like Littlefinger, Arya, Tyrion... or do not really care about like, Rob, Stannis (most of the time), and Joffery. Joffery is kinda interesting but every time there is a scene with him I am pretty sure I know exactly what is going to happen and he just pisses me off so much I just wish everything he did was off screen.
