Just finished The Great Hunt and started The Dragon Reborn.

EDIT: And as my assistant manager says, I have "joined the Cult of the Unnecessarily Long Books."

Finished The Dragon Reborn this afternoon. It was strange at first to have so little focus on Rand, but I enjoyed getting to see more of the other important characters doing stuff.

I'm undecided on what to read next. I don't think I'll go straight on to the next Wheel of Time book just yet. Maybe Side Jobs, a collection of short stories from the Dresden Files.

Took a short break from Side Jobs to read a compilation of the first few MLP comics, published by IDW. They tell of Chrysalis' bid for revenge, and they are hilarious and wonderful.

I've never finished it but it's okay. It's too long though. And there's certainly a list of novels before it that are better and more worth spending your time on (Dance Dance Dance, Norwegian Wood, Hardboiled).

I'm nearing the end of the Young Jedi Knights series and I just finished The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. I am on book 12/14 Return to Ord Mantell.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

I never had much interest in Lovecraft, but I read At the Mountains of Madness after hearing that the movie Prometheus was more or less a rip off of that story (spoiler: it was). I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, especially considering I almost never enjoy horror.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I never paid him much mind either, since he relies WAY too heavily on dialogue sometimes, but The Shadow Over Innsmouth was really good.

So now I've also gone and purchased a complete collection of his works for Kindle for like $3.25 >>

Seeing as I enjoy things that most guys my age don't like I want to be a Nuerologist, so, I am reading Pyschopathology, Tony Attwood's guide to Asperger's syndrome (to understand my mind before I try to understand other's.), Disconnected Children, and some articles about the brain. Hell, it is better than me watching porn all the time like the current generation's 13 year olds do.

I would suggest you also read The Male Brain by Dr. Louann Brizendine. It helps me on a daily basis. Plus, it's ultra informative.

Psst also I would suggest reading the The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine as well. It makes sense of the crazy world of women.

I just finished the Young Jedi Knights series. It was good. I wouldn't give it a strong recommendation though. The stories are very interesting, but it feels kind of preachy. It puts off the same vibes as the Harry Potter series with it's focus on the benefits of friendship. I had to roll my eyes about 50 times throughout the series. It's good, but not that good.

I've started reading Love's Ripening by Rumi. It's so good. I thought the preface was ridiculous, but these poems force me to stop and contemplate the full meaning. It's really good. I'd like to share a couple lines I just read:

Though reason is learned and has its honors,

it pawned its cap and robes for a cup of love.

Boston Jacky, the latest Bloody Jack book. :)

I fully anticipate finishing it tomorrow or the day after. Then maybe I'll reread the Midnighters series since I recently (finally) purchased books 1 and 2. Then I can add that to my list of "books Kamau's finished recently but doesn't have the next book in the series".

It's a long list...
