Just finished House of Cards. I didn't go into the show with any big expectations but it definitely won me over. Can't wait for the second season.

Glad to hear it.

The wife and I have been watching Dr. Who. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but the who has some moments of real brilliance. It took a couple of seasons for it to really get its hooks in to me, though.

That's the terrible thing about the show. You have to wade through so much ugh to get to the greatness. I wish it was more tight.

How many seasons did it take you? Because I really started liking it at the end of the Ninth doctor...although the beginning of the Tenth was kinda eh.

Somewhere along the second season of the 10th doctor, I suppose. I liked a lot of stuff from both the 9th and early 10, but i didn't get the "one more episode" feeling until then.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

watched Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie last night. the beginning was kinda funny, but towards the middle of the movie it seemed like there was a big shift in tone. there were still jokes, but the serious side of the plot started to take over.

Really? Maybe it's just because I even liked the original Doctor Who, but I thought every single episode was worth watching. Some weren't as good, sure, but I never felt like I was wading through 'ugh'. Of course, when I showed it to Jody, I skipped some of Chris Ecclestian's episodes just to get to the Tennant goodness, but that's only because he was brilliant.

Yeah. There's a few episodes I much don't care for. Much of Ecclestain did before Father's Day (and everything from then on is gold) with the Werewolf episode and the one with the girl and the Olympics being the two that stick out in my mind the most.

Also I'm watching season three of Archer. I really enjoy Archer, I just find it a hard show to watch unless I'm giving it all my focus. I don't understand why either. Maybe because it's really quick and if I don't focus I'm pretty lost in what's happening.

I happened to love eccleson as the doctor, and it may have only been for the spoilers that he dropped for the later seasons that you didn't realize you were hearing at the time. But Yes everyone knows David Tennant was a god as the Doctor, I do like Matt Smith too as well though and while he is no Tennant I truly loved the Van Gogh episode and a lot of others. I hear from the depths of the internet this may be his final season as the doctor though.

I hated that he stuck with the same Companions for so long though, just saying.

Right now I'm watching through old seasons of "Supernatural" though I can't figure out why.

was watching some Empire Strikes Back last night and it hit me- why didn't the empire just blockade Hoth? if i was some low rank xwing pilot stationed on Hoth during a siege, especially if i knew someone as important as the princess was there, i'd be thinking about mutinying real quick. screw being frozen and starving to death on an ice planet, i'm starting my own rebellion.... on a tropical island planet....

I've been getting around to watching all the recent Oscar nominated films. So far, I've gone through:

- Beasts of the Southern Wild
- Lincoln
- Les Miserables

I've enjoyed them all really. I even found myself liking Les Mis even though I've never really enjoyed a musical.

Yeah, I watched Les Miserables, and I have no Idea why Anne Hathaway got all that Oscar buzz. she was barely in it and she was just crying the whole time. sh didn't even have a good monologue, I thought her performance was probably as good as it could be for the part she was playing. but that's besides the point, the only characters that had enough of a part in the movie are Hugh Jackman and Russel Crow and that's it, And their acting and characters were brilliant.

since i got my antenna, i've watched judge joe brown, divorce court, judge mathis, and people's court. it's really funny too how all these shows seem to exist to "provide a good example to the african american community" (judge mathis) "every third person that comes through here wants to be a rapper. there ain't enough room in the rap room"(divorce court lol)

even the commercials are all like "get off your ass and go to college" OR they're about the apparently common horror of having to leave the house to get cathiders, instead of having them delivered to my door.

I used to love watching those shows when I had nothing but an antenna.

You better suck in as much Judge Joe Brown as you can before it goes off the air in a few months!
