I started Bartender!, another series marketed as a "healing anime". As the title would suggest, the premise is that of a prodigy bartender managing the hidden Eden Hall. A sort of sommelier, he listens to troubled patrons reflect upon the issues in their lives, and matches to them a fitting drink, presumably to make them feel at ease. The ingenuity of the bartender, in both his approach and in his ability to concoct a drink so perfectly suited to the person, is effective enough to instill in patrons a new understanding about life, and often as a result, s/he will proceed to confront their problems with renewed strength and perspective.

I found another series, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.

Edit:

I spontaneously dropped every series on my watch-list except Bartender, and that too may suffer from the same fate if my interest wanes any further. I've decided to become more selective about the anime I watch, a direct result of the wonderful feelings I experienced while binging on Honey and Clover. That being said, I did find what appears to be a gem in the Spring 2011 season. The first episode aired five days ago. Ano Hi Mita Hana No Namae O Bokutachi Wa Mada Shiranai, or AnoHana for short, is a drama-comedy with a lot of potential.

Watched a German film called the Edukators this morning. Blew my fragile little mind and broke my heart. Reminded me of what it was like back when I was young and less of a sell-out.

Highly recommended and readily available on the pirate bay.

Watched 'The Other Guys' with my Dad. It was funny. I think it was supposed to be funny. It wasn't great either. I wish Mark Wahlberg was in cooler movies.

I think I'm drifting away from anime and moving towards TV dramas. I'm getting really sick of only finding anime series based around High School life, and I've never been much of a Shounen fan. I want more adult issues, darnit.

I've been watching the J-Drama version of Bartender, and the K-Drama Coffee Prince.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, roughly translated as "We still don't know the name of the flower we saw that day."

Watch it with us.

The part where the mom dies used to make me cry all the time when I was little.

I haven't seen that movie in ages. It used be my favorite.

In addition to AnoHana, I also watched a few episodes of Rurouni Kenshin to get in the mindset for taking my exam.

I also need to watch the second season of Clannad. I've been avoiding watching this since it's a guaranteed tear-jerker, but it's the perfect summer anime (just like Kanon is the perfect winter anime).
