Agreed. Easily one of the more disappointing films of the year. I thought it was going to be a good sci fi, but it turned out to just be another blockbuster make-a-buck movie.

How long has it been since you watched Mission Hill?

ive got it, and if i were into goofy fan fiction, i would totally hook daria up with kevin french

So I saw Shutter Island.

I don't know what to think.

It felt more like a weird cross between Kubrick/Kaufman/Hitchcock and A CERTAIN MOVIE THAT MAY KIND OF SPOIL THINGS Fight Club than a Scorsese film. It certainly wasn't a bad movie, it's hard to make a bad movie when you have one of the most talented director and actor today working together. It's just...not up to par to say The Departed, The Aviator, and certainly not Goodfellas or Taxi Driver.

I think it's just that a bad Scorsese film still makes for a good movie, just a bit of a disappointment. Although I do think it may benefit from another viewing.

Feb 20th into Feb 21st, we had a Swan Princess movie marathon and watched all three in order.

Feb 19th into Feb 20th, we had a Star Wars marathon and watched Episodes 4, 5, and 6. :) We made up a drinking game to go along with it (though none of us were drinking alcohol). We'll watch Episodes 1, 2, and 3 when one of us own them.

What's the point of a drinking game without alcohol? It seems like just an inconvenience to me.

Also how do you play?

Indeed, I am curious as to your drinking game.

As it is, after anime club, we went to our usual hangout where 4 members live anyhow. xD So, we marathoned as many disney movies as we could stay awake to see. so.... Meet the Robinsons, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, and The Emperor's New groove. Pizza, soda, and good times were had by all.

Dude... GX is... well, the original series was/is so much better, even after what 4kids did. GX is basically yugioh with 4kids calling all the shots. just... no...

What in the world are you talking about? I'm watching it subbed, like I do with most of my anime.

Still though, a whole school devoted to a fucking card game? Well... It's your life, waste it how you want.

Lol, even only subbed... I can't imagine how it's much different. I mean... looking at that newest series, whatever that name was... the kids have to have a FUCKING MOTORCYCLE to ride while dueling. so... WTF?! Some demented fuck stole the rights off the original franchise and ran off to hooha-land.

I saw the 'zero season' of yugioh, which is necessarily subbed. As far as the aired first season... they made some silly changes to the visuals... but it wasn't story-breaking.

Reposting this because you posted too damn quickly before I had a chance to add something:
I'm watching Yu-Gi-Oh GX, not Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's. Have you seen subbed Yu-Gi-Oh (any version)? If you haven't, then your disparaging remarks are unfounded and without merit. Sure, the premise of the story is still the same, but there enough differences in the more subtle details that make the subbed version worth watching. After all, these are just our opinions on the story matters. God forbid we have dissenting opinions and tastes.

Lol, then don't get all butthurt when I obviously have a differing opinion and tell you in no uncertain terms. =P
You're still gonna watch it anyways. And yeah, I saw more than a few GX episodes myself and it put the first season to shame with it's corniness. sdjflkjakldf

Uh, what? Let's go through this logical flow, shall we?

1. I stated I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh GX.
2. You assumed I was watching the dub, then proceeded to talk about how terrible you find the dub.
3. I clarified by stating that I was watching the sub.
4. You said that you felt the sub/dub didn't really make a difference, then digressed from the topic and ranted about Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's.
5. I asked if you had seen any season subbed, then proceeded to explain that I found the subbed version worth watching for the more subtle changes that were made. I proceeded to remark that we had dissenting opinions, and it is implied that I had meant that we should not debate further about such a trivial issue that will go nowhere.

Explain exactly where I got "butthurt" in this conversation. I felt that I had to defend my opinion on this post given that you felt that the show wasn't worth watching.

If you really think the sub makes a whole lot of difference from the dub... well I don't find the difference large enough, though it generally is in quite a few other series. And the reference to the following series was meant to draw attention to the obvious downhill slope of the animated series.

Haha, but that's exactly it. you make it sound like such a big issue when you get all technical and start numbering things. =P

And as for me... watched some old episodes of Dragon Ball, DBZ, Sailor Moon, and something else... I think, in anime club yesterday as part of Nostalgia day.

So putting effort into my post makes me "butthurt"? I'm not seeing the logical flow here. D:

Also, on topic, I'm still watching Yu-Gi-Oh GX. I've made it to the second season where things finally start to pick up.

The harder you argue over something small, the less it indicates that it IS actually small to you.
Small things don't merit that kind of effort.
But I like arguing with you anyways. xD
