You are just about the only person in the world who thought Gold and Silver were the worst.

They were the best just in its ability to change something about the games. The day/night, new Pokemon, dual battles (I do believe was in G/S), having two different leagues, etc etc... That generation was the only one to actually feel like the Pokemon games were doing something new. Ruby/Sapphire are boooooooring and so are Ruby and Pearl. Not to say they're bad games, at all, but they just didn't do anything new or exciting at all. Silver and Gold is where Pokemon improved, and sadly some of the stuff from that generation was just lost.

I believe double battles was in RSE first, not GS. But I'd agree, RSE is my favorite. Though like you say, GS is the most 'complete' by actually allowng you to travel the whole world and keep collecting badges, etc. Yet, out of all the Pokemon games, I'd say GS is the one I remember the least.

GS started Double battles in the sense you would take on two trainers at once- like the twin girls, but still only one Pokemon went out at a time. It was like they wanted to do Double Battles, but couldn't.

I'm a GS <3er of course, and didn't quite like RS so much.
But Mael, I don't see how you can like RB and hate GS, as far as the pokemon, because GS does include all of the Kanto pokemon as well.

Gold and Silver were indeed the most exciting of the games, and HardGold and SoulSilver are the only games I've even cared about since Ruby and Sapphire ruined my hopes of a good Pokemon game. Thankfully Diamond and Pearl revived those hopes.

Well sure, it included the original 150, but you had to import all of them. Otherwise, they were kind of outside the game. I dunno, for me g/s wasn't very memorable, and I wasn't all that enthused by the day/night thing. New and interesting... but I always felt it was kind of a gimmick. More new to be new rather than for adding something with depth to it. I understand how it can add some realism to it, but I just never felt it and was more annoyed about waiting for a time of day to catch some things. Like with rotom. >.>

I barely remember much of the g/s region. I mostly remember the secret bases, which were actually pretty damn good, cuz you could battle your friend's party data, and fighting red (he was hard >.>). I totally forgot that it let you travel the original region (nix what i said earlier about having to import all of 'em that stuff). And then, I don't remember how the gym battles went or anything.

RSE was definitely more memorable for me. Cool starters, a lot of cool new pokemon that have become favorites of mine. While it didn't have much that was 'new,' it took most of what was great about the games and made it look better, added moves and stuff. The landscape and music were definitely more memorable.

Seriously, I have a g/s shaped hole in my memory.

Bases were an RS thing, not GS. And yes, legendaries aside, the original 150 were for the most part all within Johto. No importing required.

Oh yeah, that's right. I was thinking of that one underground place in viridian where you could basically do the same thing.

And to anyone with reservations about getting it, it's worth every penny- just as enjoyable as the original, and the after game more so with the addition of the Battle Frontier.

Speaking of reservations.

I want one. ;-; But there are absolutely no GameStops around me. At all. I think I'm going to cry.

Bring your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi and your Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl or Pokémon Platinum game to a GameStop store January 30 - February 14 to receive a Pikachu-colored Pichu! It’s not only a special color, but it also holds a secret you can unlock in the Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions! It's only available in stores, and it's only available at GameStop. Click here for details.

Pre-order Pokémon HeartGold to get a free Ho-Oh figure, or pre-order Pokémon SoulSilver to get a free Lugia figure, while supplies last. A pedometer Pokéwalker will also be packaged with every game. I have to drive 2 minutes to get to a Gamestop. I used to have to drive 10. Makes me really feel like I'm not in the middle of nowhere.

Okay, I got the title of the article, but I'm not entirely sure what they are saying.

What are they saying? Is it another spin off, gen5, or are they rebooting the whole thing?

Sounds like it'll be a brand new game. But yeah, not sure if the whole "reborn in all innovative" simply means they've actually come up with a bunch of new features to add to traditional video games (or perhaps fake 3-D battles like Golden sun?) or it's a spinoff with entirely different gameplay mechanics. So who's up for a pokemon RTS? Wait, it says "RPG Hard" for the genre in the only bit of known data.

So- New pokemon to be used in brand new game. Sounds fine by me. Still, can we hope for the permanent extinction of bidoofs?
