I've never even seen a shiny Gyarados due to my lack of Gen II playing-ness.

And I'm in el paso, that point (literally) in Texas that's as west as you can go in the state. Ya know, right there at the border between TX, NM, and Mexico.

I don't have my DS with me, but I do have five badges, and my team consists of a level 27 Slowpoke named LEONIDAS, a level 28 Scyther named ARCHIMEDES, a level 28 Haunter named MICHELLE (I don't want to trade her into a Gengar), a level 28 Croconaw named PHILLIP, a level 28 Pidgeotto named SARAH, and a level 28 Raticate named BERTHANIAL. They have the moves you'd probably expect from them, except that ARCHIMEDES has Roost. <3

Got a shiny mudkip with outstanding potential from the Halolz stand in the artist alley at fanime. Lvl 5, it's Nickname comes as Halolz, and i think the OT was written as Halolz.com. I forget and I don't have the time to check.

I'd say hold off for Black&White at this point. Yeah, it's a year away, but HGSS don't offer that new of a gaming experience. Just a nice throwback to the old days. And are we going to start calling Black and White BW?

How do you participate in these Wi-fi events?

You participate one of two ways:
A) Load the game --> Underneath the save file go to the Mystery Gift option --> Receive Gift --> Get Via Nintendo Wifi Connection --> Download the event
B) Go to event location (usually GameStop or Toys'R'Us) --> Load the game --> Underneath the save file go to the Mystery Gift option --> Receive Gift --> Get Via Nintendo Wifi Connection --> Download the event
