I dunno, I know a dude called Richard Treblecock, and at my high school graduation, there was a speaker called Richard Izzard. Dick Izzard! Dick Is Hard!

I didn't really need to spell out the last few steps, but eh. It made me giggle like a schoolgirl.

like a pedophile...?

hey there little boy you want some candy?

nah, more like hey kid, wanna see a dead body?

i joined the society of creative anachronism yesterday, which is basically the rennaisance fair club. the barony of the black diamond of the kingdom of atlantia [not kidding.] practices at virginia tech. my two friends and i started with heavy combat, which consists of a rapier, or two handed sword, and maybe a shield. after awhile, i was really effin tired. but check out the guy in the background with the HUGE sword.

Posted Image

the night before, mike and i made these really cool [stupid] parrying devices. they took all afternoon for some reason.

Posted Image

even though im usually moving too fast for even the sport setting on my camera, i was noticably slower because of the heavy sword.

Posted Image

you can really tell how much slower im moving by how much of the picture isnt blurry

Posted Image
Posted Image

Micah seemed to be having an easier time with it than i was, he's not used to moving like he's made of lightning.

i was going for a walk along the river bank to go check out this cool bridge.

Posted Image

it had rained the night before, and the water was moving really fast. there were even trees down in the water.

Posted Image
Posted Image

it was really muddy around the water, and there was stuff everywhere.
Posted Image

but what is this?
Posted Image

thats right. i found five bucks just lying in the mud.
Posted Image

I even found half a lobster!
Posted Image

Posted Image

after i passed some wierd island, i saw a genuine virginia waterfall. just try to ignore that its coming out of a sewer pipe and its kinda pretty.
Posted Image
Posted Image

after that i could see the bridge
Posted Image

after walking up a little slope, i saw that the bridge has been closed off with a fence.
Posted Image

it had some really cool grafiti on it.
Posted Image

fences suck, so im going to find a way to get around the barrier, and be able to take pictures from the middle of the bridge.
Posted Image

Let's hope i dont die!

Calvin was sure right. there IS treasure everywhere.

with my previous attempt at tresspassing onto a closed off bridge foiled by a fence and barbed wire, i decided to go for another walk, and see where it would take me. of course, i brought my camera.

i took a worn down patch of grass through to the bike path, and saw this cool tree that had been EATEN!

Posted Image

past that, i finally found my way to Virginia Beach. it's really not as glam. as people make it seem.
Posted Image

mostly because there are clams everywhere.
Posted Image

they're kinda sharp to step on barefoot.
Posted Image

I followed the scattering of clams, and it seemed to be coming from a tree.
Posted Image

yep. clams come from TREES.
Posted Image

with that little mystery solved, i decided to go back up to the bike path. but on the way there, i found a carrot just growing there in the mud. not one to complain, i plucked it out, and took it home to eat.
Posted Image

the bridge in this picture is about a mile and a half from my apartment. when i took this, i was nearly a mile PAST the bridge.
Posted Image

but turn around, and whats this? another bridge without sides? COOL!
Posted Image

there is a podium at the park near here that says that the stone columns sticking up out of the water were built by confederate engineers during the civil war, and burned by the north.
Posted Image

I finally made it up the slope and onto the bridge. i guess its for trains. which would explain the train tracks
Posted Image

it's pretty high up. i had to be really careful where i stepped, so i didnt step between the railroad ties and nut myself on something.
Posted Image

this is back towards the car bridge and home. i'm about level with it.
Posted Image

theres really nothing down that way. its another day's adventure
Posted Image

on the other side of the bridge, there was land, and between the tracks was some animal's jawbone.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Time has been cruel to this part of town. but i could be wrong and it could be a recent construction. you never know what you'll find out here in the boonies
Posted Image

Like this femur! not gonna lie, i felt like csi right here.
Posted Image

after i felt like my life had been in danger long enough, i tried to go back, but there was a train crossing the bridge, so i had to wait.
Posted Image

another shot of what lies beneath. its a LONG drop.
Posted Image

Beavers? In somewhere other than Canada?

More likely than I think, apparently.

Cool pictures though, Kasper. Sounds a lot more interesting around there than my immediate area.

I decided to go climb up this mountain thats next to a bike path. business as usual until i saw this thing out in the distance near the top.
Posted Image

i got a little closer and saw it was a car.
Posted Image

you can kinda see the tree growing out of it there, i can get a better picture next time i go back
Posted Image
Posted Image

theres another mountain thats taller, i may have to drive to it though.
Posted Image

plus it looks like it has houses on it....
