Wish I'd been around more for when this all started. I was keeping notes about all the new features and things I liked but...the list was getting too long after only 10 minutes  :conf:

Also, it was hard to thing of a Pokemon name that merges with mine.

I own X but I haven't started playing yet because I'm trying to finish the Professor Layton game I already have started (otherwise I never will, haha).

I'm looking forward to school today because hopefully I can snag some people to play / talk about the game with.  Despite there being a Pokemon Club on campus, all they've been doing is spamming their Facebook page. I do not believe that any of them have actually played the game within 100 feet of each other. With all the new socializing features they have added I find that to be a pity.

I got my copy of X earlier today. :3 I'm playing through it as a nuzlocke. I started with Fennekin (who I named Sienna) and I've since caught three pokemon (Pidgey, Fletching, and Dunsparce, named Horus, Hazel and Rashida, respectively).

I wish I could get the hang of the Player Search System. I send the O-Powers which is nice but then there is an option for Game Chat that is greyed out for everyone. I think you need to go into the parental settings of the 3DS to allow its usage. And Spaz has a speech bubble with ... in it. What does it mean! So many things to learn!

Edit: Idea. We could use the Chat on the forums while we play? I'll hop in there any time I can.

If possible, I'd suggest picking up Heart Gold/Soul Silver. Those games were tops.

My critiques with this game are minor; overall the game is a lot of fun.

1. I wish the game utilized 3D more often.

2. Battles seem to lag during the menu navigation between turns. (ie, the pokemon seem to be animated at 15-30fps)

3. Pokemon has what I consider a "maplestory" effect now due to its age. For someone who hasn't played in a while, there's a ton of features. Berries, farming, pokemon amie, super training, rollerblades, holo-buffs for streetpass tags, pokemon riding, pokemon breeding, pokemon hoards, sky battles, character customization, and so on. These features, though optional, tend to just stack on top of existing legacy features and give a sense of disconnect to the overall game. I feel as if in some way a lot of these are just tacked on without any overall cohesion. It's a very difficult feeling to put into words, but at times it makes the game feel overwhelming.

4. Awkward rollerblade controls. EXP share can be toggled, why can't these? (I am aware the control pad may be used, but that feels awkward.)

5. Menu transitions at times take 2 seconds or more. I wish the game felt just a little bit faster.

6. It hurts the pacing getting the 1st badge so early and the 2nd so late.

So I use my roller blades all the time because I use the circle pad as my default navigator. XD

Got my first badge! Also, I had a full team of six before I even made it to the forest. It was horrible.

I found the roller blades awkward and annoying at first, but really, I got used to it after a day or two. Now I think they're fun. Especially when you're roller blading across sand or water and you leave some kind of trail. I like making lots of circles when I'm going along the coast.

I've started naming the pokemon that I catch for wonder trades. so far I've sent out 3 gravellers named 'Monkeypro.' sadly the .net doesn't fit, but that's OK.
