Coming Worldwide in 2013 for the 3DS.

Initial thoughts:

• That grass starter looks dumb. The frog looks cool. The fox looks too much like Zorua, but thank god it's not going to be another Fire/Fighting type (I hope...)
• The locations look interesting. It looks more European. Which is cool!
• The UI of the battle system is definitely, finally, changed.
• That deer thing at the end is neat, but it also kind of reminds me of Kelado and it's related legendaries.
• Kind of don't like that they're not repeating what they did in Black/White and forcing people to use new pokemon on the first play through. It made Black/White so much more worth it to me.
• I guess I need to get a 3DS this year.

Also, I guess Generation V is over. No Kanto. No remakes of Ruby/Sapphire.
I'm kind of sad at those facts, but whatever.

neat! i got tired of gen v a lot quicker than the others. i just wish i wasnt 25 and trying to have a life...
- european setting is a nice change.
- were those rollerskates? the character looked like he was rollerskating.
- can you disable the 3d and play it like a normal game? it gives me a headache

You do know you never have to pay with 3 D on the 3 ds? You can turn it off for any game with the slider thing.

The UI reminds me of the Stadium games. It looks cool, but I hope they'll still have the option to toggle attack animations. xp
I'll probably still wait to get a 3DS until they release Pokemon Z. You know it's going to happen. I can see why they might not have wanted to do a game called Pokemon Grey, but they're kind of telegraphing a third entry with those titles. :p I should actually have time for Pokemon again by the time that's out (and hopefully better income as well).
The lack of RubyEarth and SapphireSea (or whatever they might have been called) is a bit disappointing, yes. =(

The new games look pretty cool though. It nice to see a more pronounced visual change than we usually get with new generations.

Did not see enough for me to have too much of an opinion yet. The main things were seeing the Starters and the visual change for the game. Slowly we have been moving from a top-down view to a 3rd Person view. I like the Water and Fire starters, but agree that the Grass-Otter looks weird. They made an aquatic looking animal a Grass type which is odd.

I am sad that the real point of this Direct was to show off how they are getting faster at releasing the games closer to the Japanese release. Yeah that's...great I guess. I never really minded waited because it gave me time to play the previous game! I am still trying to finish Black 2 because it is such a long game with so many additions.

What I am looking forward to the most is how the use the 3DS features. I actually bought a 3DS for Black 2 just so I would have it for future games I wanted to buy (looking at you, Luigi). I am happy that they are finally making a game for the next hardware system.

I shrug at the new Pokemon in the video. I felt the same way about the Black/White generation, and even moreso about this one from the starters alone...It's like the creators ran out of ideas. I can pretty much see where they spliced older sprites together to make the new Pokemon. It's kind of disappointing.

Interesting, all the new things they're throwing in there...but this just makes me realize more and more that I need to finally obtain Black or White. As for getting a 3DS, this is just yet another reason to add to the list.

I think the grass starter is interesting, though I don't necessarily like how it looks. I was just thinking the other day how all the grass starters look reptilian, so it's cool that they're going for a more mammalian look. (though it does look just like oshawatt to me, but hopefully its evolutions will set it apart and coolify it?)
As for Fennekin... I don't care if it looks like another pokemon. Don't care if there have been fire-type fox pokemon. I don't care if it even ends up being yet another fighting-fire type. I want it.
The frog does look pretty cool and different, though. If I didn't already totally love Fennekin, I'd probably make that one my starter.

I do like how they've changed the graphics up, but it's still recognizably pokemon. I'll probably steal my sister's 3ds to play this.

I'd love to get Black or White when they drop in price, but the things are too dang popular for that to happen. xp Even Platinum is still $35 whenever I see it.

You should probably look at Oshawatt and Chespin side by side. They really don't look the same at all. Besides being weird and being of a similar shape (but lots of Pokemon/things in general are that kind of stand up humanish shape).

And yeah, even though I think Fennekin looks similar to Zorua I'm totally going to use it and I want it. I hope its evolutions are awesome.

Since I guess this isn't going to be like Black/White I bet we see some new Evolutions/Pre-volutions. I hope they're as good as they were in Generation IV.

Though I didn't think Oshawott and Chespin are that similar. They still look entirely different from one another, it's just the body that make me think that. That and they both look kind of like otters, I guess.

Though, really, I don't mind it when pokemon look kind of similar. I prefer that they all kind of can look more alike than the pokemon that just completely stand out and make me go 'wtf is that doing here?'. Since they are basically just supposed to be magical animals, it kind of makes sense. A lot of species in the real world do look alike, even if they aren't of the same family... So, I guess it just makes sense that pokemon would be like that, too.

Haven't played a recent Pokemon game... By that i mean since Fire Red..

The new Pokemon all look alright, (In my opinion anyways)

Every time they release a new game though it just leaves me thinking about what else are they going to try and do next....

Pokemon Reversal..... NOW THE HUMANS are the ones fighting.... I dunno it's probably a fan hack already in existence somewhere..

You can get a bit of a reversal from the PETA version, in which the pokemon rebel and attack the wicked humans that have been keeping them captive (i.e., the main characters). Seriously, this exists. It's on their website.
