Well, we won't be writing more of this than there is. The point of the CCC is to create a character that fits into the setting BottomGuy designs, then once the deadline is over, everyone can vote on their favorite. Whoever gets the most votes wins and... that's it. The characters aren't actually used in an rp (or haven't been yet, if everyone wanted to do an rp, or enough people at least, we could, I guess).

Speaking of which... Has the voting period begun? I guess it hasn't, since he may very well change the voting process again, and if not, then there isn't a poll up yet...

I have no amazing personality traits except the fact I'm British and People don't like my personality.. but i do have a British Accent so at least Some Americans can be angry and oddly happy at the same time.

I will add a voting poll tonight. No longer going to have secret votes submitted to me through PM. While I don't like the idea of being able to monitor who is winning, it will hopefully encourage everyone on the forums to vote.

I must say I have been impressed with the general submissions. I have not read any of them in depth, but I have seen people creating their own history for the setting. I left the Empire and the Outskirts vague for just that reason. I just hope to see some evil evil characters once I start reading them. Disappointed with myself for not making a more evil character.

I think I know who I'm going to vote for now, but it has been difficult to decide. All of them were very well done!

It's ok, it's a common misconception. :P

So, when does the voting period end? Just figured I'd ask so other people can know and not procrastinate for too long before voting (it totally has nothing to do with the fact that I just really, really wanna see who ends up winning in the end- no, not at all).

Generally, I don't think you're supposed to vote for yourself since, if only those participating vote (ideally more people on the forum would vote, but I think the last two contests it was mainly just participants) and if everyone voted for themselves, we'd just have a big tie. Though I can't actually find anyplace that was openly agreed, so that's just my take on it.

edit: I lied! Fox said no voting for yourself in the first Triple C.

alright, well I would be open to turning this into an RP, I knew it was just a creation contest, but then I started thinking about my character and how fun it would be to write for him and I really want to see this go down. I like that I just showed a small glimpse into his madness and I really would like to expand on it and I think it would be a blast to write.

Not to mention now that we are all a bit older and all of us understand the value of good story telling(I'm hoping anyway) it could go amazingly, but for how long I know my submissions would be, it will take a lot of time to make entrances.

I agree XX. Though, since we are all generals it may be difficult for us to have a ton of interaction with each other. I could see it becoming all of us just kind of telling our own story as events unfold.

and what's wrong with that, it could end up turning into a pretty epic story if all of us put enough effort into it.

which I could see at least a few of us being willing to do.

((I'm just gonna say the fact that everyones is so much longer than mine, I don't deserve to win, I was very distracted and although I was kicking around Ideas the whole time I rushed to write mine at the last minute and I was distracted while writing so it made it that much more difficult to get in a quality submission.

/>and what's wrong with that, it could end up turning into a pretty epic story if all of us put enough effort into it.

I think the issue is that if someone were too much on their own, they'd just end up talking to themselves most of the time or doing huge, long-winded posts that barely anyone else would bother reading. RPing is a lot more fun when you have someone to bounce off of, react to, and screw with. :P

Personally, I'm unsure of turning this into an RP... I could have totally seen the Super Heroes contest making a good RP, even the space exploration, but with this I'm not entirely sure. It'd be trickier due to how separated some of us would likely be. Plus, it would absolutely require Fox to play as Lord Bolshivar, which he might not be able to do once school starts.
Though I am mostly on the fence about it because of my own character. XD I really like Enitan and I do want to use him in something, but while he's not a loner, I do think he'd be on his own for most of the RP since he has the least to do with the war personally. (plus even if I did join in, there's a good chance I'd have to drop out once classes start, or would at least stop posting as frequently).

Side note: why are none of you voting? D: Graww.

Edit:

I'm just gonna say the fact that everyones is so much longer than mine, I don't deserve to win, I was very distracted and although I was kicking around Ideas the whole time I rushed to write mine at the last minute and I was distracted while writing so it made it that much more difficult to get in a quality submission.

Eh, don't feel bad. Mine would have been the same issue if I didn't have the time to edit it. :P Plus, as far as long vs. short, I think short is better. I know even mine was no exception to being lengthy, but the longer something is, the harder it can be to focus on reading it and taking in the character and appreciating them. I won't lie, it was difficult for me to focus long enough to read the entries, especially since I was reading them one after another (not to insult anyone here, I liked all the characters, it's just difficult for me to read quickly and actually absorb that information).

well I can see where your coming from, It actually would be kinda hard to make it fit really well, but truthfully, With me holding such a high position and literally every character being on the Bolshivar side of things, I could totally create situations in which the people would have to react with eachother Like having the Lutes battalion train with the high weapons master, or hiring you to take out high officials on the other side of the war, you know that would also leave you pretty much free to come and go as you had time to make an entry, I'm just saying if it's done right it wouldn't be so bad. And quite possibly loads of fun.

I agree about the length of the entries making it difficult to read and absorb all of them. How else would you fully explain your character, though? And I'd be open to trying to RP with these characters. Just not sure where it'd go.

/>I agree about the length of the entries making it difficult to read and absorb all of them. How else would you fully explain your character, though?

It's not about giving less information, it's just about explaining it without going into unnecessary description. By finding a balance between the two and putting just enough description to hold the reader's attention, it keeps them interested enough to want to learn more. Otherwise, they might feel like they're reading the same thing twice over or that what they're reading doesn't hold much more than filler (and this doesn't mean always striving for less description, just not putting extra description where it's not really needed).

Granted, this runs the risk of not giving enough description and thus making your character feel stilted and lackluster. So, it is still all up to personal preference, I just prefer shorter myself.

Sorry about now posting sooner about the voting. I left my laptop at work yesterday. I am going to say that voting will be open for one week starting from today. So you have until Friday January 18 to vote.

I might have goofed a little bit when I made the poll. There should have been an option to show the names of people who voted. That way I could easily make sure no one voted for themselves. Tried to edit it but the option is gone and then I was going to delete the poll altogether and redo it, but that might mess some people up who had already voted. Going to leave the poll as is and trust that everyone can be trusted not to vote for themselves.

Starting an RP for this could work if enough people want to do it. Right now there are two Yes and one Maybe. I would be willing to support it if I feel there are enough people who want to get involved.

I agree with Puffin about the length of entries. You really need to balance it that people can read through it an pay attention. I was aware of that when making my entry. I held back on some areas because I wanted people to be able to read it in under 5 minutes. I sure have seen characters before that were so looooooong that I just said screw reading their profile.
