Super Name: Xerox
*Civilian Name: Darian Eberhard
Super Power / Ability(s): Darian has the ability to use other peoples' powers, as long as he's seen the power in use. He is effectively able to "store" a small number of powers within him, and they are ever-changing because, unfortunately for him, he has no ability to control his "copying ability".
Note: Darian's ability to copy powers is limited to two at a time, and he is able to use them until another power takes their spot. Which could happen either right away or not for a long while, depending on who's around. Certainly makes it an interesting time trying to learn to handle
any powers, that's for sure.
Though he can use them immediately, Darian doesn't always know which power he ended up copying (especially if there are multiple used at the same time) and has to figure that out before he can actually use it. On top of that, he doesn't have much control over them aside from the basic principle of "point and shoot", at least if that's how the power could work on a basic level.
Weakness(s): - As stated above, Darian has no ability to control what powers he absorbs, nor when. (Well, he does, but he'd have to know that a super hero or villain was going to use the powers, and then he'd have to close his eyes or look away or…something if he didn't want the ability.)
- "You have to see it to believe it." Or, in Darian's case, "you have to see it to be able to mimic it."
- Darian's ability also comes with the unfortunateside effect of powerful headaches or dizzy spells if he comes in contact with too many power too rapidly for him to handle. The severity of these spells depends on how many and how fast.
Age: 19
Height: 5'4"
Build: It's not that he's scrawny. Darian just…can't seem to build muscle past the point where it doesn't look like he's starving himself. Don't talk to him about it; it makes him grumpy. …As does the fact that he can't grow facial hair.
Appearance: Dusty blonde hair that falls to just above his shoulders, and is cut in layers that naturally (or stylishly…though Darian won't admit it if you ask) angle to the left, especially his bangs that drape down to barely brush his eyes. Bright hazel eyes. A few light freckles here and there – nothing too obvious, unless you're looking for it. Often wears a brown pageboy cap. Has an overall sort of childish look to him.
Costume Design: Despite this being a childhood dream –or perhaps because of it – Darian has never been able to decide on what his superhero outfit would look like. When the time came to don one, is his excited haste he kind of just grabbed the first few things to catch his eye, which ended up being his pageboy cap and a dark brown trench coat, which hangs down over jeans and whatever shirt he happens to be wearing that day.
Personality: Darian isn't necessarily a loner…he just doesn't always like hanging out with people. He has a wide range of interests –or a severe lack of them, depending on how you look at it. He helps out at theschool paper occasionally, and jumps from hobby to hobby at whim. Whateversuits his fancy, or catches his eye. People seem to think he's rather scatterbrained, given how often he spaces out during a conversation, but he's actually quite observant – just not of the things you'd expect. He might not notice if a girl got her hair cut until a week has passed, but he'll notice immediately if something is out of place in his room – which makes things miserable, having a roommate in college. Around his idols, however, Darian is eager to please.
Ambition / Goal(s): To become a super hero. He…hasn't really thought past that yet, honestly.
Origin Story: Darian has wanted to be a super heroever since he could remember. He was your stereotypical fanboy listening to every tale of Batman and Superman that he could get someone to tell. He watched all the documentaries, read all the papers, kept all the clippings. He dreamed of being the next "Boy Wonder", going as far as to occasionally cross out Robin's name in the papers and replace it with his own. "Darian, Boy Wonder". What a ring!
But childhood fantasies can only take a person so far…and, like many, Darian eventually fell victim to the embarrassment that comes with classmates mocking you for your hobbies. After middle school, he stopped inviting his friends to his home because, though he stopped talking about becoming a super hero among his peers, he couldn't bring himself to take down the newspaper clippings and pictures adorning his walls.
His parents seemed relieved that his "childhood obsession" had finally tapered off…but in reality, Darian was just biding his time. When it came time to picking a college, he picked the closest one to the city of the League of Justice's headquarters. It was as close as he could be to his dream without being obvious about it. He was your run-of-the-mill student. Nothing outstanding. He studied, went to class, went to the gym when no one else was around, and quietly went home after discovering that, once again, he hadn't developed super speed overnight.
When the word went out that the League of Justice was seeking new heroes to join their ranks, Darian jumped on the chance to finally fulfill dream. However, a dream like that is a hard thing to fill when you…don't have any superpowers. But hey. Batman didn't have any real superpowers. Neither did Robin! Darian was determined to join the team, no matter what it took, and, well, perhaps the League realized that, because they finally allowed him to start doing little things around the building. Small things, like running coffee or keep things in order. Almost like an intern, but hey, Darian won't be complaining anytime soon. All he knows is he's here now, and if his time in college so far has taught him anything, it's that everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up the chain.
And maybe one day, he'll actually get to watch them train, and maybe even practice
with them! Then again, he'd probably die ofhappiness before making it there...
Other: Let it be known that Darian's power hasn'tactually been discovered yet by the League. Or by Darian. (That, or they are recently discovered. It would depend on what point a possible RP took place.)
