The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

In the third interview with Todd Howard he mentions something really interesting about how some sports games have really power RPG mechanics. Over here in Britain the biggest selling computer game every year is a game called Football Manager. It's basically a sports sim where the player only has indirect control over the events on the pitch. It's quite nice to hear I'm not the only person looking at these sports games and comparing them to, say, Pokemon. Most people just think I'm crazy for seeing the similarity.

But yeah, that passed under the radar, didn't it? I wonder why more wasn't said about that. (Other than them being much smaller than id software).

This is not brought about by the teaser trailer, just the info released so far and the fact that I'm becoming a fantard for all things Bethesda. :D

Some interesting new information. Most interesting is the animal AI. Hopefully this means that I won't be going in to the editor and making every friggin' low-level animal non-hostile, like I had to for Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3.

(I still use your happystyleedits mod in Morrowind since the Ecology mod that makes animals flee when you attack is obnoxious.)

I read this today and it made me happy. I've been more or less playing this way for several months.

I suspect this will be nothing more than medieval-fantasy fluff with a few scant RPG elements thrown in.
Sure is pretty, though...
Alright, Bethesda, you win. I'm excited.

but doesn't playing a game like oblivion or morrowind, and observing the npc's just going about their daily lives, ignorant of what you do, kinda make you feel like you're the only 'real' person? i started to get that vibe a lot during obliv and 3d dot heroes.
you awaken in the intestinal tract of satan. you must defeat the hydra to escape. your only weapon is righteous anger.

A lot of the interactions with dragons were clearly scripted but they seemed to be rendered using the in-game graphics engine. Modern computer games make me dizzy with all their seamless cinematic shinanigans.
It does look very impressive, at least this time it looks like there may be the odd fantastical setting that gives me a boner of Morrowind scale proportions. Oblivion just left me limp for so many reasons.
