Long ago people used to say "Pokemon today just aren't as cool as they used to be." And I used to be one of them. But then I realized, the first 151 weren't that cool or badass. They were just as cutesy and lame as newer ones.

But now I remember why we all thought the first 151 such pimps. It wasn't because of the content in the games, or the TV show, it was all of the art, the promos, everything else about Pokemon made them seem ready to battle. Ready to fight to save the life of their trainer. Ready to throw down at his slightest whim. Yeah, those were the days.
