That is almost like my job. I have like a 60k (net profit, overall worth 160ish?) project that really doesn't require much work. I usually am around 150k~200kish in projects per quarter (I don't really get to control price or amount though, but still pretty good).

++ It was a good day at the hospital.

+ I got the last competency I needed for my clinicals~ (We have to prove that we can do a certain number of exams competently, and I've had trouble getting a chance to do any orthopedic surgeries.)

+ I got to poke a patient with a needle for the first time today.

- It didn't go well. xp

+ The lab tech said it wasn't my fault.

++++ The techs asked for my email in case a job opens up. (It's really hard to get a job there because everybody loves it, and nobody ever quits.)

+ I gave them my MonkeyPro email address.

+ It felt downright warm when I went home in the afternoon.

- Had to leave for work about an hour after I got home from clinicals.

+ Got to work with a fun person (i.e., not the assistant manager)

--- The assistant manager came into the cafe halfway through my shift to give us extra stuff to do. His interview to become the cafe manager is tomorrow morning, and we had to make the place look extra pretty.

-- Cut two of my fingers on a broken platter while washing dishes.

----- Got home at a quarter to midnight instead of eleven as scheduled.

- My back hurts.

-- I normally have Fridays off from school, but we have an extra class tomorrow morning to learn how to make proper resumes. I've lost track of the number of times I've been taught how to write a resume.

- USPS has obnoxiously slow tracking.

- All the sensible people in nearby time zones are probably in bed already, so I'm reduced to ranting to an empty board.

 

The day started out so good. Now I just want to curl up into a ball.

I got the needle into the patient's vein alright, but when I tried to advance it, there was a valve in the way, so we had to try another spot. The tech got it in a couple centimeters farther down the patient's arm without any trouble. Then he had me attach some tubing to the IV site, flush it with saline, and adhere some bandages to hold it in place. The saline flush was weird since I could feel it flowing into his arm where I was holding the needle in place.

 

The patient was cool about it. He commented that it wasn't the first time someone had had to try more than once on him.

I had that happen when we went in for Lily. The nurse was fine, she just couldn't find a vein. When she finally picked one it burst and got blood all over. She apologized a ton. I told it was fine. Honestly I didn't care. I just wanted the contraction pains to stop.

I apparently have really good veins. I don't think I've ever had someone miss aside from the one time I had to ride an ambulance to the hospital. My memory of that morning is nonexistent at best, but I specifically remember being poked multiple times and later having a lovely series of green bruises around that part of my arm.

What were you in an ambulance for? Did you live?!

I passed out at work a few years ago and still have no idea why. Even after I woke up, I wasn't really cognizant of anything for several hours (with a few marked exception, such as being jabbed in the arm multiple times in a moving vehicle). People tell me that I was talking and asking (random) questions, but apparently I couldn't even tell the EMTs my name, much less remember that they asked me anything like that. They did a handful of tests on me, including a not cheap CT scan, but nobody could tell what had happened to me.
