I have respect for them. That's why I stand up for truth even when most are against it.

hitler wrote that the best lies were the ones too big to disbelieve, which is why it's so important that no information be taboo to pursue.

Fair enough on both counts. For this, or for anything else that requires some critical thinking, I often defer to sources that I trust, and I encourage other people to do the same. And the only reason I trust a lot of the sources that I do is because those sources have earned it for one reason or another. I don't trust Alex Jones, but I obviously can't prevent you from doing so, Streets. I guess all I can really do is warn you that conspiratorial thinking doesn't really achieve anything. If you, or anyone else thinks that there is more to a story, then investigate it. BUT! Don't start with a conclusion and then look for data to back that up. Look for data, and then draw a conclusion from it.

There's a huge difference between pursuing lies and crazy talk that isn't grounded in reality.

you're 100% right. a sane person knows when to be reasonably satisfied with the truth, whether they were right or wrong.

I make conclusions based upon pure fact. This causes many people to think I have no empathy, but that's an acceptable price.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

But everything Alex Jones' says is based on speculation...

No. Occasionally, he does speculate but when that is the case he says something to the effect of "I predict that..." or "... now we're just speculating right now but I guarantee you will see this happen." The rest of the time it's "The New York Times reported that..." or "Henry Kissinger admitted in his own memoirs that..." It's always a good idea to rethink your opinions before you make baseless claims.

I watched the Alex Jones show once and he tried to flog me diet pills. It was really weird.

That should be all you need to know about him. He caters to the gullible.

He has accused the US government of being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing, the September 11 attacks, and the filming of fake Moon landings to hide NASA's secret technology and killing of "thousands of astronauts".

You have to understand where he is coming from on stuff like that. Also, the show needs some funding.

apparantly so... even he HAS to realize that he's a tinfoil-hat Hulk Hogan. he makes money filling a specific need of those who listen to him. he's a character. he has to be. if what he says is the truth, then don't you think he would have been given the jfk treatment by now?

he's no different than any other news commentator, they draw you into their world, and sell you their brand of narrative. wolf blitzer uses a greenscreen, glen beck uses a chalkboard, alex jones uses radio. the only person i've ever met that was really gung ho on jones worked the graveyard shift at an out of the way gas station in TN. what does that tell you?

Point taken, Kasper.

And for the record, since we're keeping score, I watched the whole thing.
