Not to mention I never said ban guns outright. But it certainly should be more strict. We're the only civilized country that has this much gun related violence and it's because our gun laws are just too loose.

EDIT: And my response this morning was more towards the fact that the first thing I ever see in my news feeds when this happens is arguments on how much we need guns. It is sickening and terrible.

we need guns as long as we have the capacity to be batman. i'm not trying to be funny, or to marginalize what happened, but i have no other real words for it. if anyone, at any time, could have the capacity to equalize a situation, and the common sense and skill to make it happen, then why shouldn't we all have guns? i don't have one yet, but does anyone know what the background check entails? is a psychological evaluation even a pre requisite? in half an hour, i can take a human life with my bare hands, but in half a second,should i have that power? i personally believe that all life, and all ideas deserve equal consideration, so why doesn't 'murican society give equal consideration to who can take a life? there was no formal psychological evaluation to get into the navy, but basic training is sort of an extended psych test. why wouldn't anyone else have to go through something so stressful in order to be allowed to have that ability?
