Someone reminded me today that we know Saddam has voice recognition, song trying out for. It's not going very well. It is pretty fun to be able to switch to windows without having to click around the period. It doesn't really work well with chrome, so that kind of sucks.

There was an earthquake in Oklahoma last night, and we felt the shock wave up here in Kansas. It wasn't severe by any means; it was just really, really random and unexpected. I'd never felt an earthquake before, so I had no idea what it was at the time.

so Obama says Americans have gotten lazy about trying to sell products/services in other countries, and basically made the point that we've become a pretty arrogant country when it comes to the mindset that other people want to do business with us because America is the best at everything.

i think we've been riding idea that we had a great generation that won ww2, and got out of the depression for too long. i think we've gotten too comfortable to stay on top, and it's only an inevetability that we won't be forever.

Well for a while it was looking pretty certain that the EU would surpass us quickly, but then they got hit hard. The only real winner in all of this is China.

i dont even believe that if china's economy passes ours, it will necessarily make them a bigger world power. the concentration of their wealth is similar to ours. they have a lot more people than we do, and a lot more peasant farmers working the rice fields.

No source on me at the moment, but it's worthwhile to note that China artificially inflates their figures (build a railroad. tear it down then rebuild it) and there is quite a bit of sketchiness going on with unreported off-the-table bank loans (to their citizens). Add into the mix that their GDP growth rate will eventually level off, and we'll see some interesting changes in the next 20-30 years, both politically and socioeconomically.

I know a Korean lady from my church who could probably read it.
Though to expedite things, my friend who also does Tae Kwon Do says that black belts (if that's what it is) usually say the name of the academy and the name of the grandmaster.
