Oh my! If it's not too late, get the audiobook of The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's good ol' epic fantasy, so it's nice and long for all that driving. And it's amazing.
The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I decided that since I'm back at my summer desk job (which just means I can sit and read for four hours) I'm going to get through the Foundation series. I've started with Prelude to Foundation and I'm about a quarter-way through now. Asimov's vocabulary is so above mine to the point that I'm getting out the dictionary at least once every few pages. Engineering manuals, physics journals, math papers: Oh yeah I know what that word means. Good science fiction: What, is this the SATs again?

Since I ended up talking with Kamau for 15-16 hours worth of driving, I wound up having more audio books than I needed for this trip.
I got a bit farther in Deathly Hallows on the way to Kentucky, but I dropped it in favor of The Runaway Jury for the rest of the trip. (It is so much better than the movie. More so than is usually the case.) We discovered that we didn't actually own a copy on CD, so my mom ordered one just before our trip and had it sent to my grandma's place. =p

Finished up The Runaway Jury after touching up a couple of the discs with toothpaste (it was a used set). Still my favorite Grisham book.
Not sure what I'll read next. Possibly a Heroes book I got from Kamau during my visit. Because Hiro.

Decided to get through Ender's Game again. I'm also getting through Psych 101 (need stuff to impress psychology-major Jackie with), and now I'm back to reading Forward the Foundation.

Reading is still going ever so slowly for me this year... But I'm not a few chapters in to The Hobbit, which I've actually never read before. I starred in a high school play of it, I've read the LOTR books, I've watched the two current movies... and . have had the whole series sitting on my shelf for about 4 years... WTF?

My Little Pony: Friends Forever
Following up the Micro series, which focused on one character per issue, these stories focus on pairs of characters. So far Spike + Celestia and Twilight + Shining Armor are my favorites from this series.

Seven Principles of Good Government by Gov. Gary Johnson
We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Finally made it through Forward the Foundation and now on to Foundation. At the same time I've started Star Trek Academy: Collision Course by William Shatner. Yeah, yeah, I know. He's a ham, but his books got pretty good reviews.
I'm also getting through The NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting because Jackie may want to go shooting sometime soon.

Still making my way through Heroes: Saving Charlie.
Also been catching up on some manga. Most notably, I've restarted Akira, which is quite a bit different from the movie of the same name.

Still slow goings on The Hobbit. Why haven't I been reading much this year? I blame children...

You should read to the children.
When I was young my father read me The Hobbit, and then made me read LOTR. Like when I was 5.

Spanish Vocabulary
Jackie speaks some Spanish.
German: A Linguistic Introduction
Jackie also speaks some German. My throat hurts now from all the non-midwestern sounds.
