It really is incredible. As soon as I read the word Serenity I got chills through my body and I got super sad again.

My brother and I went to Barnes & Noble to try watching stuff on my laptop, with mixed success.

We managed the MLP season premier with some stuttering in the middle (13 inches this time~), a Best Friends video which magically played perfectly, then had to give up when Community jittered to a halt and eventually crashed.

trailer park boys. pretty good new season. you can really tell the difference in writing and directing from the old seasons to new after the boys took over. it still doesn't feel right. when i started watching it, it was like a crappy public access mockumentary shot with a handicam. it was low budget, and really charming in its ways because of the limitations. now it's a netflix show and they have all kinds of money to fluff out the show with, instead of having to draw substance from the actors.

also interstellar. wow. i fell asleep 4 times. matthew mcnarnagangle is awful. is he just always playing himself in different outfits or something? for a planet with a massive ongoing agricultural catastrophe, there sure are a lot of nice suits and disposable income to spend on hair and makeup. actually, how is all this crap even around still? who's still making makeup and hairspray? millions of people are starving to death, and increasing at an exponential rate, but anne hathaway still looks ready to hit da club. oh, and this writing; "i think the apollo missions were an effort to bankrupt the soviet union, there are definitely some unanswered questions, but space exploration leads children to think outside the box, we need them to be farmers" SO much unnecessary exposition on the state of the world only works to undo it. i wanted to see a movie about space damnit, not a 60 minutes special about how fucked the planet is backlit by horrible acting. screw this movie. let me make a movie about space and it'll be worth staying awake through.

if i wanted stupid, i'd watch dinosaurs. with that said, ever notice how dinosaurs and family guy are the same show?

Midwesterners are really not all that stupid. Well, some of us are.

I should probably pick up a decent book in the near future.

Gf and I watched the entire first season of Game of Thrones thanks to HBO's "Watchathon Week", where all their shows are free to watch for the week.

I've read the books, she hasn't. We're both sufficiently hooked.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Louie, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley all came back last week. So those things, of course.

Silicon Valley oddly enough being my favorite.

Also I saw this movie called Submarine, because Bee said she liked it and couldn't find anything else and just started playing it. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Not like the most amazing movie in the universe but really played on the silly kind of stuff I enjoy.

I'll probably watch The Room tonight since I just finished listening to the audio book for The Disaster Artist (which is amazing if you've ever been fascinated by Tommy Wiseau).

Star vs The Forces of Evil

Seriously, go watch it. Now. Everything about it is beautiful. Everything.

From the theme song:

To the goddamn puppies:

SERIOUSLY, GIVE ME THE PUPPIES

I'm torn. The show almost looks too energetic...but see, the main character is named Star, so...I might be contractually obligated to give it a try?

Bee and I watched Song of the Sea finally after wanting to for months (and having the Blu-ray for a month). It was so so good and I loved the animation and story. Very much worth watching.

Also the first three minutes of this week's Louie was the best

A little late to the party, but this is my latest show binge. Easily the best live action superhero series/possibly the only good one ever(?). It's basically the live action Batman series I've always wanted but will never get, and it kinda makes me want to pick up a Daredevil comic.

And them fight scenes, though.

Currently started on watching Black Lagoon. Because of reasons largely summarized as "why not?"

Not bad so far.

Interrupted Game of Thrones time to go to the gym. GF was not pleased. XD

Also working to get more caught up on Arrow (only the last five episodes are On Demand...how rude). GF also started watching the Flash, so I have to watch the first few episodes and catch up to her.
