The location was this dirt-and-grass patch of land off to the side of the road. On this patch was a carnival with all sorts of games to play. The games took tokens, I thought, so I spent a while walking around looking to see how much tokens were. I found the machine - tokens were $1 a piece, and I thought that was a ridiculous price, so I left, but I couldn't resist walking through the game area at least once. At the entrance to the game area (everything's out in the open, by the way) there was this space I could crawl into. I looked kind of like an igloo with a raised platform from the inside. The second I popped my head in, I found $5 of the ground - or at least, I thought it was just $5. But I start pulling up a wad of money. Every time I pick up one bill, two more show up. After the first two times this happened I saw a newspaper on the ground and what looked like it could be a receipt. I felt guilty about taking all this money, thinking someone dropped a heck of a lot of cash on accident and would want it back. I nudge the newspaper to get to the receipt; the newspaper falls open to reveal a huge amount of coins (including $1 coins). I pick a few of the quarters up (yay laundry money) while continuing to reach for the receipt. I pick it up and unfold it. It's incredibly long, but I eventually spot a name on it, and for some reason, the letters of my fraternity is also on there. My dream self knows that this past week there was a conference for my fraternity in this area, so someone must have dropped stuff on their way home. Dream me starts estimating how much of the money I could say I found when I got a hold of them (to seem like a good person) while being able to keep the rest...I think I had been deciding on $20 when someone else wanted to get into the crawl space. I backed out without taking any of the money, then crawled back in. I think the person looked like Professor Oak...he talked to me for a few moments before leaving the area, and I discover then that there's a guy my age picking up money he's finding from the other side of the raised platform. I go back to picking my side of the money up, and we chat about how amazing it is that all this money's on the ground.
I finally leave the crawl area, my pockets bulging with probably a couple hundred dollars. I decide then that I can now spare some money and get tokens to play these games. I hunt around, but I can't find the machine any more. Finally, after a long while, I recall seeing dollar bill options on all the machines. I'm about to go do that instead when, as I'm walking down a dirt path, I see a booklet on the ground. I pick it up and look at it; it's a book of bills. Like dollar bills, but they're not real (especially when I see a $40. Stupid dream me actually doesn't know if they really make $40 bills.) I start thinking that something may be wrong. I end up spotting the owner of the place, a large woman with a huge head of curly hair (if any of you watch The Voice, think Erin) and I walk over to the long counter she's sitting behind. I put the booklet on the table. "Excuse me?"
She looks up, bored, then looks back down and resumes ignoring me. I try again. She tells me to go away unless I have something important to say. I begin stammering my way through how I found the booklet on the ground. She looks at the cover without moving, unimpressed, and shrugs. "What about it?" I launch into how I think it's important, and how I found all the money in the crawl area. She asks me if I have they money with me. I pull out my wallet (she stops me before I can open it, because my wallet screen flickers between two images and she wanted to see that) and show her the money, which no longer looks or feels like actual money. Instead, they have a construction-paper look and feel to them, like they were hand printed on entirely wrong things (they were even pink!). I told her how they had felt like real money when I picked them up, and that I didn't know what happened. She looked between the money and the booklet, now seeming angry.
"No one's going to do anything about this," she tells me, almost resigned. She points at a letter and signature I had for some reason out on the table. "This guy's in charge of the place, and he's a douchebag. He's not going to care." I agree with her on his poor attitude, but otherwise don't know what else to say. She asks me to scan the note and the bills and email them to her, and she'd see what she could do.
Fast forward. I'm in the car with my mom and sister, and we're passing all sorts of amazing locations. The one I recall most vividly is Lego Land, where they had a castle the size of the one in Disney made entirely out of insanely huge legos. We're on a bus now, and the bus pulls into the area, next to this huge lego outside theatre, and lets us off.
The dream ends.

Last night I dreamed that I finally played Minecraft. Sort of. It started out with me as the character (in first person, so I couldn't see myself), and everything looked realistic instead of blocky. I was trying to play the way Yahtze had described his experience, i.e., hit a chunk of dirt with your hand, and you can move the chunk of dirt. But even though I could see a faint grid pattern in the dirt, I could not move any of it.
Then I realized that I was holding a DS in my left hand. There was a 16-bit representation of myself and the surrounding area, and my in-game self had collected several units of dirt (equal to my number of attempts with my real hands). I started going around see what else I could do, both in "real life" and in the DS game, but it had taken me so long to figure out the dirt that the sun was already going down.
I walked back to my house, but my progress was blocked by a Creeper. It sounded like the suicide bombers from Infamous as it came after me. I managed to lose the first one, but a second one appeared and blew up in my face. Then I woke up.

It started out on a jungle island, and I was in one of the four tribes/gangs that lived there (named A, B, C, and D). There were a couple of people with telekinetic powers in each gang. I went with another guy from A to spy on one of B's camps, but we were captured and locked in some kind of slapped-together building made from large scraps of metal.
There was more to the first section, but I can't remember anything else.
I have no idea how it transitioned from that, but the next thing I remember was being in the basement of a fairly normal house with a couple other people, a man and a woman I think. A mysterious figure on a monitor told us that the only way to get out of the house was to get past a system of laser tripwires and turn off the device that controls them. Each tripwire was connected to a small particle beam that could instant vaporize anything in its path. I found this out when I accidentaly tripped a laser and tested the range of one of the particle beams with a tissue I had on me. The tissue went poof as soon as it touched the beam.
Fortunately, these beams didn't hit you when you tripped a laser. They were placed just ahead to create additional, more hazardous obstacles. I must have been nearly awake and had a full bladder at this point because there were a number of particle beams pointing just over the tops of all the toilets, making them impossible to use without being killed. <_<
I did eventually find the transmitter that turned off the lasers, but it wouldn't turn off the particle beams that had already been activated. But then the guy who was trapped with me managed to find a second transmitter under a now-accessible air vent that got rid of the beams. I can't remember if we managed to find the guy who set up these traps. I think I woke up shortly after this point.

I feel like they were all there to film something for me, but there were no cameras around so maybe it was just a rehearsal. I don't remember what went on at all, but soon enough Annie and the two older folks from her movie were all saying goodbye to each other, and to me (well, the two older folks were. Annie was a jerk). People were parting ways, and suddenly Puffin was there helping me out with cleaning up. I guess the place we had been using wasn't mine, because we were supposed to be making sure no one left anything before we headed out. I crouched down to look through a filing cabinet, and there were all sorts of things in there. The top drawer had a bunch of those shimmery gift bags that you put candy or small toys in, the ones usually at kids' parties. These were all a deep pink/red, and I pulled out out. There were strawberries inside, and dream-me knew that I had given them out to my friends over a year before. I showed the bag to Puffin, commenting that the strawberries were frozen, so maybe they were still good! Puffin gave me this look and shook her head, telling me to "put them back", and then when I said it again, to "throw them out. Don't touch them anymore." Reluctantly, I put the bag back in the cabinet. I opened the second shelf to find a dark green marble notebook. I opened this up, and to my delight I found some of Puffin's old drawings in them! Only, I've never seen these pictures before. Maybe dream-me has.
The first drawing was a picture of my character, Lara. She was perched on the edge of some guy's lap. The guy had long hair that dream-me knew was silver, despite the picture not being colored, and the hair was down his back (think Sephiroth). The guy was in a wheelchair (but the chair was kind of blurred, as if done on purpose with charcoal, because the rest of the drawing was crystal-clear), and he was smirking. Or gloating. Either way, it was a darker sort of "I win" look. Lara, on the other hand, looked like she had...given up? "Desolate" came to mind. Looking closer I saw some sort of shadowy tendril of smoke wrapped around Lara, but she didn't seem to notice it at all. Dream-me had no idea what was supposed to be going on in the picture, and neither did I.
I turned the page and found a second drawing. This one was more elaborate, yet I remember less of it... It was of Lara again, and other Destiny characters that I recognized this time around. She still had a sad look on her face, but it wasn't as bleak as the first one. Reluctant, maybe, this time. The remaining five characters were behind her, forming a sort of clustered pyramid upward, lined two by two. Carson and Age are the only two I remember looking at, but Carson's the clearest of the two. Carson was standing behind Lara and slightly to the right (as you're looking at the picture), wearing his long coat. He was shouting angrily, mixed with...anxiety, maybe? and trying to lunge forward, but his hands are tied to his sides by really dark lines. I don't know what they were, but either they were hastily drawn ropes or they were similar to the shadows from the figure picture. Age is standing behind Lara and to the left, also slightly back from Carson as well. He, too, had the dark lines around him, but either he wasn't as concerned about the situation or he wasn't showing it as much. He may have been frowning, but that's about it. And I know there were about three other people in the picture because that was how the pyramid lined up, but I don't remember who they were at all... (Later, I woke up wondering if they were perhaps other guys Lara knew, or just other Destiny characters.)
Dream-me knew I could look at the pictures as long as I wanted, but that point was when I decided that I had looked enough. I glanced up to show Puffin the pictures, but then both of us heard voices from off to the left. We both looked to see Annie standing at the counter of a McDonald's that was suddenly right there. She was ordering something, and the cashier, upon realizing who she was, suggested that maybe she wanted a cup of lemon tea. She looked at him silently for a moment, with this mild look of "how dare you suggest something to me", then shook her head going "No, thank you, I don't want a cup of that... But I'll take the entire pot."
Then I woke up.

The dream started off with me packing and doing other things with people; I think it was the last day of something and I was preparing to go home. I was keeping an eye on the time, and saw that it was 10:20-something. Quickly, I looked up the train schedule, seeing that there was a 10:44 train, so I told myself "okay, time to go. hurry up!" But somehow as I was heading out of the building, I ran into Joe Hardy, who was heading back to his room to talk to his brother Frank, and in walking with him for a few minutes I became Nancy Drew and now we were playing Assassins (a game of mock-murder). Frank was the person I had to 'kill' but I couldn't do it then so instead I went back to this waiting room and hung out with everyone else still playing.
We talked about I don't even know what and goofed off for ages. At one point, I glanced up to see some guy staring at me and trying to hide a smirk. I deduced that he was supposed to 'kill' me. So I looked back down, now resuming my slow packing, and shortly after made a loud, general comment about something that caused him to laugh and start to admit that he had me, before he realized what he was doing. And I was just like "don't worry, I already know you have me. Game on." That continued for a really long time and then Frank and Joe showed back up and I spent a while trying to figure out how to get Frank alone so I could 'kill' him and get my next target, but it didn't work like that.
Then I realized that I was still here and not on a 10:44 train and it was past 2 in the morning and I was screwed because the next train wasn't until, like, 7 a.m. and my mom was going to kill me if she knew I was still awake. Then as I was thinking this, I blinked and was awake in my bed, unable to recall when I actually went to bed, and my brain was ridiculously foggy...

I was back at my old Starbucks, taking orders for some of my favorite customers. But I kept forgetting how to make their drinks and had to redo them over and over. And more people kept coming up to the counter to order. And trying to make all the drinks at once just made me mess up even more. And everyone was mad at me. I tried giving out apologies and free drink coupons, but by that point even the regulars hated me. Then I woke up and wanted to never work at Starbucks ever again.

I then proceeded to try and win my dogs trust/love back by getting her a treat. I literally ran around my house looking for something, a dog treat, meat, anything, but I could not find a single thing. For some reason I decided to look behind my fridge for something... I found a big rolled up rug(don't know why).
After that I woke up.
Probably the dumbest dream ever...

The first part I remember was me driving to, or from, somesort of family gathering. I was driving…away, I think now, and the road wasincredibly icy. As I hit the first patch of ice, I tried to slow down, but itdidn’t work and after hitting the next patch I skidded off the road andcareened up the start of a hill covered in snow. I got a little ways up it,then the car was submerged partially in the snow.
I must have been injured because I open my eyes to find myselfin a hospital bed, but I don’t see anything actually wrong with me. I glance tothe side as I hear a noise, and there’s a woman in the bed next to mine. She’spregnant, and currently in the process of having her baby…babies. Definitelymultiple going on there. She has the first two and then there’s a pause whileshe continues groaning about pain, while the doctors and nurses are confusedbecause, well, she already had her babies. She should be okay. But thensuddenly number three is coming.
I suddenly decide I shouldn’t be watching this, so I turnaway, and realize that our beds are not in the hospital, but in the middle of ahuge, dense jungle. I look back over to the other bed, but it’s not thereanymore! Suddenly I realize that a close friend had been in the bed (though Ialso knew she wasn’t the woman who had been pregnant), and I somehow know that she’sin danger, so I start running to find her.
At one point while trying to find her, I run across a highschool friend who has become a film director (I’d been looking up his stuff onFacebook yesterday, so this makes complete sense that he’d be in this…). Ipause in my running to get angry with him for what’s going on in the dream. Ithink he had told me that no one would get hurt or something. He just smirks atme and disappears, or something. I resume running.
That lasts for, oh, a few seconds before instead of tryingto find her, I’m running for my life as shadowy things chase me through theforest. I’m running and running, knowing that if I can find her it’s like a “safezone”, but I can’t, I just keep running. I feel like I was bleeding at somepoint, but I can’t pinpoint where, or why.
As I’m running I spot something in the distance. It’s a camera crew setting upto film something in the middle of the forest. I guess I had seen that crewbefore in my dream, maybe by the hospital bed. Either way, I change directionand run in front of one of the cameras. I stop, then march right up to the lensand start arguing into it, knowing that the director is watching all of this, but the camera guy keeps coming forward so I have to walk backwards.
I’m a bit fuzzy on what came in the middle of all this, butsuddenly I’m in something akin to an office building with shelving for walls,so it’s one giant area essentially. I’m working with some guy named Adam, whotells me he’s the director of something and that only if I work with him for awhile will he tell me where my friend is. So I work with him, but after a whileI walk off on an errand for him and instead, I start hunting through a desk ofsomeone named Lauren. I don’t know why I was doing this, but dream me seems tothink I was going to find something. We were both disappointed. I leave thedesk and start walking back to Adam’s, but I’m stopped by a woman at adifferent desk. She’s asking me who I am and why I’m here. Quickly, I makesomething up and tell her that I’m a new intern. She asks “for who?” and Iglance off to towards the desk I had been raiding and tell her Lauren. Sheseems to accept this, but she still looks suspicious. Still, I’m sent on myway, and I rush back to Adam’s desk. It’s time to end this charade.
At first, I can’t find his desk at all. When I do, it’scrammed near the corner of a shelf, and he’s nowhere to be found. Instead, there’s a computer screen with email opened, and the emails are pouring in ofall the things I’ve been doing wrong at the office and what needs to be fixed. They’re all addressed to me. I try to find Adam in the employee directory butit’s like he doesn’t exist!
I start running again and find myself exiting the buildingand reentering the dense jungle, where the shadowy things are waiting to startchasing me again.
I feel like there was so much more to this dream, but withall the shifting between locations I’ve lost the rest of the details…

At exactly 1a.m. (I know because I checked my clock almost immediately) my dream...turned off. Whatever it had been of, I had been right in the middle of it when out of nowhere it completely shut down. It looked exactly like what you used to see when shutting off the television, with the burst of light in the center as all the pixels went black. And the second that happened, I was abruptly jarred awake, with no other probable cause. On top of that, my house and neighborhood were completely silent. It was a little eerie.
After attempting to get over my disorientation, I went back to bed, but woke up a half hour later when my alarm went off. Or rather, when a loud 'thud' woke me up because apparently this particular alarm was set for vibrate only, so my phone vibrated itself off my shelf and on to the ground. But that's just a bit of extra story.

Been dreaming about this place with increasing frequency lately. It somewhat resembles descriptions in the book House of Leaves, and also a short story I wrote when I was 18, but I've had these dreams for as long as I can remember.
Thinking about it another big influence on my psyche is the Dover Tunnels.
I wanted orange. It gave me lemon-lime...

Honestly, I have decided to put these on here for analysis and such. (mainly analysis)
We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Before I could talk to Lady and win a prize, my contact showed up. He was dressed in a huge jacket with a collar that covered his face, huge sunglasses, and a brimmed hat. (Well, I guess it's Disney, so he pretty much blended right in...) We spoke in whispers and I told him, in a completely serious tone, with a completely serious expression, "I want you to kill my clownfish." Only when he asked for the fish's name did I get flustered. "Don't laugh, but...my sister named him...His name is Nemo. Nemo the clownfish." Right after I said that, I remembered that I hadn't wanted to assassinate Nemo anymore, and I tried to tell the man "never mind" but he just shook his head, ignored me, and left. Before I could go after him, Lady came over and told me I had won a prize! I was shown a really old Nancy Drew book, and kind of...promptly forgot about my fish's dilemma.
(Actually, I think the assassin was still around at that point, and I tried to tell him that I wanted him to find me a copy of this book instead, but that's when he ignored me and left.)
