I know this is a terrible potential troll bait topic, but I don't care. I don't watch a lot of movies, and frankly that's because most of them suck. For instance, I keep seeing ads for a new movie horror called "The Purge."

http://www.imdb.com/...4339/?ref_=sr_1

Yeah, so I guess that in some crazy alternate reality, America decided that the answer to its many woes was to allow any crime to be committed during one 12 hour period each year. There's no great social commentary here, just 2 hours of torture porn for people I can't be friends with.

Anyway, feel free to use this topic to have a go at movies you think are going to be terrible. I guess TV shows could fit here, too.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I don't think I've seen trailers for any upcoming movies that I'm not looking forward to, or that I at least plan on going to see. (I had not heard of The Purge before this topic, so that one doesn't count.)

I guess I'm a little worried about Man of Steel, but it's hard to tell just what they're doing with that one, so I'm reserving judgement until it's out (or it gets a new trailer).

I'm not interested in Man of Steal for two reasons, one because the last Super Man movie wasn't any good (I know, reboot city!), but mostly because the director's last movie, Sucker Punch, is my most disliked movie of all time.

TV has been trying to shove trailers for The Croods down my throat, but I'm not interested in it at all. I don't think it looks that great.

The heck is wrong with my phone. I wrote a post, and it somehow deleted both mine and Kyle's posts. =/ Sorry, Kyle.

He brought up Iron Man 3 and was saying something about "George Clooney Jr." (heh) being replaced by someone who isn't going to have the same Tony Stark feel. And I was confused because I hadn't heard anything about anyone being replaced.

Also I'm looking forward to Ben Kingsley in Iron Man 3.

Well I recently read on another board about him being replaced by JDK or something like that.

I feel like I should know who JDK is, but I can't quite attach a name to the initials.
But all of the results I get in Google still list Robert Downey Jr. in the credits.

Yeah, I screwed up. It is Robert Downey Jr. For some reason I was thinking of George Clooney...

God, I wish this thread had existed when that cloud atlas trailer was making the rounds a couple of months back.

Grown Ups  wasn't as good as I expected it to be, sure I had some good laughs in the movie, cough: YOU WERE INSIDE ME! Cough! But otherwise too predictable.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

As the human?!

It was the role he was born to play!

(also why the hell would you expect Grown Ups to be good, at all?)

Grown Ups... Feh.

Also, I'm hesitant about a new Godzilla. Roland Emerich kinda ruined it in '98... but I'm sure he did the best he could (he does suck, after all). Also, this would be yet another reboot of the classic movie. Me no want more reboots.

It does, however, have two things going for it. The previously mentioned Bryan Cranston, and the director, Gareth Edwards. His previous movie, Monsters, was surprisingly good.

But also, why do we need a new Godzilla film? I'ma just go watch Pacific Rim again (I've seen it twice this weekend. A Winner is me.)

when you make a godzilla film, it has to be about more than big monsters fighting. all the godzilla movies have a message inside the rubber suits. matthew broderick's godzilla was like a prequel to cloverfield almost. but hey, maybe it's time for some anti-nuclear propaganda.
