I just noticed recently that there are a couple of Let's Plays for this game on YouTube.
I tried watching one for a few minutes, and the guy just read the text aloud during that time, which annoyed me. But at least the game is popular enough to be getting Let's Plays, whatever their quality. =p

Yeah, there's actually about 7 or 8 now I think in progress. Your mileage may vary from person to person doing them but I keep tabs on them to see how other people play and make changes accordingly. A couple of them are actually quite entertaining- others perhaps not as much.
On a semi-related note, I had to patch the download a few times after the initial release to solve some issues; is the download here up-to-date as of the 27th, and if not how can we fix that?
I updated it on the 25th due to a post you posted on Poke-Place. That's why I knew how slow your server is (also because I wanted the animated sprites). But if there's even a newer one I'll fix that when I get home/if Glace or Hyperlisk see this they should be able to.

It should be updated now.
Your server is so slow. It took me an hour to download Reborn, at like 70 kb/s (and it's crazy considering I'm downloading it between 1.0~2.0mb/s from MP right now and that took me about a minute) . And I had to download it three separate times because the first two times it didn't download fully for some reason. It was bizarre.
If you look there should also be a mirror to the animated sprites.

You're definitely not the only one having those problems. Do you think that's a matte of traffic, or the host, or...?

Is the Reborn server on your server or is it still on Chase's?
Because if it's running on the same server as the website that could be causing the problem, but it's most likely the host (because even if you are running it on the same server if you had a better host it wouldn't matter much).

Nyu hosts the simulator server but the website is hosted separately.
The host is FatCow, but I haven't really had any problems with them before...
Doesn't mean that they have good/fast servers. Which it seems like they don't.

I am really enjoying this game. Poke reborn. Really nice pokemon game and I love the char designs. Except for some reason when I am playing the game my char speed is super slow outside even when running. But when I am inside the speed of char is normal. This aint the only rpgmaker game that does it. Does anyone know how to solve this? It really dulls the experience for me.

It's because unfortunately, the game is quite resource-intensive. As such, slower computers lag in the large outdoor areas. :/
Monkey, my site just got suspended because so many people were downloading it, it overloaded the host's servers despite having infinite bandwidth. I'm going to get some more mirrors up, but because I can no longer host the game on my site this will probably put more stress on you and any other mirrors.
If the traffic ever becomes a problem, please let me know and I can remove the link.

It's cool. You could probably directly link to the file on this server if you want. (although I like it hitting the PR page since it keeps a counter of that stuff)
PR uses a lot of bandwidth compared to everything else but I pay a lot of money for the server and I haven't been talked to yet, so it's fine. I think it might be beneficial to MP too? Hopefully, who knows if anyone actually wanders the site.

Episode 9 is up and at 'em! Here's the blurb from my site, and the first post is also updated:
A few notes about this. This is a much shorter episode than others- kind of like episode 5 was. Very story-based, no new huge areas to explore, not a lot of sidequests. However, there was a system update, and some other things have been added, so think of it just as the next story chapter + some polishing. I'll post the notable changes taken from the Readme below.
Another thing of note, however, is that I've pulled the Animated Sprites. They caused a lot of problems for a lot of people and lagged a lot of others and as cool as they were it quickly became not-worth. Plus when 6th gen rolls around they probably would've gotten cut anyway. Those of us with better computers might miss it, but a lot of people were struggling because of those.
a clever person might find that the files for download haven't actually been removed; only the link has. but the clever person would do that at his or her own risk.
Also of note: Before I start work on episode 10, I'm going to kind of do a restructure of a lot of things and re-release 9. The purpose of this would be to really try and cull a lot of the lag that occurs around Spinel and the City. However I've been reluctant to do this before because of how unstable this process is. It'll require a lot more testing than an ordinary release. So look out for release 9.5.

Hello friends!
Episode 10 is a-go!
Now before you all run off silly-willy to the download page, allow me to caution you this:
If you did not play the 9.5 testing release then you need to do a thing before you load up in E10
let me esplain you the thing
In 9.5 I reworked the city and some other places (Spinel and Chrysolia) to reduce lag (and be pretty). However because of this, if you load an episode 9 save file there is a chance that you may have saved in a place that no longer technically exists.
Therefore, I strongly caution everyone before downloading to check their save files and make sure they are either away from the city, Spinel/Chrysolia, or indoors somewhere. If they are not, go inside, save, and then load Episode 10. Once you've successfully loaded your save in episode 10 there's no longer any risk of issue (although some things like trainers will reset in some places; this is unavoidable.)
Okay, that being made clear, I'll post the notable change-list below, and you're all good to go.
Also, Monkey, I completely failed about getting back to you about the torrent thing before, but this file should be good-to-go if you're still willing to set that up
