Games That Are Going to Kick Ass

Firstly I have to mention Dishonored because it's a project I've been following in one way or another for a couple of years now ever since Harvey Smith was rumoured to be in some sort of negotiations with Betheseda. Think this video says enough to get people excited:
Looks very much like the game I wanted Deus Ex 3 to be.
EDIT: Wowzers, I even managed to forget that there's already a thread about Dishonored.

Harvey sure is looking tired, though.
Honestly after the awful that was the ending of Mass Effect 3, my interest in new games has waned a bit. There's still Hitman 5 and Borderlands 2, and I'm still excited to see what Bethesda does with new content for Skyrim, but... I dunno. The video you posted has probably made me more excited for a game than I have been in a while.

Crunch-time is a cruel mistress./>Harvey sure is looking tired, though.
I'd also like to mention Antichamber which is billed as a non-euclidean first-person puzzler. I've always been interested in the extent to which 3D games could render worlds that adhere to alien geometric laws and this seems to be pressing all the right buttons in that direction with many critics comparing it to the works of Escher.
My one complaint is that the sound is pretty flat and boring, which seems like a missed opportunity. I'd love to hear spatial effects on the audio that reflect the warped properties of the game world. I'd also complain that the trailer doesn't actually show off much non-euclidean-ness, or warp in the ways I'd like. I'm hoping that there's more mind-bending illusions in the game than what's been seen.

I have to admit, I have no idea if this will actually chew bubble gum or not, but it's out in two days. And the trailer has me intrigued. Made by the same people who made Machinarium, which was a charming game I never puzzled to the end.

Just downloading it now.
Turns out the Linux version requires adobe AIR, which is not actually supported on Linux any more. I might try running the windows version through wine instead.

Yeah, I had a bit of a moral dilemma about it. I get paid next week too, but I could afford to pay a couple of dollars now. So I did that and now I feel cheap./>I'll buy it once I get paid next week, but I can't wait since I loved Machinarium.
I've played about 20 minutes of the game and it's positively charming, but the level of interaction is so weak that I'm not sure I'll finish it. Very similar to Machinarium in some ways.

Yeah, good shout with GTA5, seems like a pretty safe bet. Personally I've never gotten properly into any of the 3D GTA's but I think that's more down to me being irredeemably stuck in the past than anything else./>i hear GTA5 is going to be pretty epic.

Prison Architect is looking quite fun. I've been playing a lot of Theme Hospital lately. But as is the case with all big sim/strategy games it gets to a point of complexity where I either have to ignore everything and focus on one small task at a time neglecting what's actually happening around me or just become completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuffs happening that I have no idea what the consequences of which will be. What what!

My only concern is that despite three different techniques being displayed they all followed the exact same path. I hope maps are big and open and aren't linear corridor affairs. That's the one thing that would absolutely ruin this game.
Also the slogan "revenge solves everything" is one of the best computer game slogans evar.

The only problem is that it comes out the first week of school. This might end badly for me...
