Game of Thrones

Forever people have been telling me to read the books but I was all like "no ways, dudez! I only read serious books for serious people about serious things." And then I founds out that HBO were doing a televisual spectacular series and I thought I'd watch that instead.
And it's good!
Some of the acting is pretty weak, but that's kind of staple for fantasy stuffs. It's a bit slow and wooden in parts but there's a midget and he is awesome cool. So I just wait for him to come by whenever I'm getting bored and sure enough he comes and says something awesome and I smile and he smiles and for a second I get to imagine that me and the midget are friends on a heroic adventure with dragons. And then I look around and realize I'm just sitting in my dirty underpants eating cereal alone in a cold room and that each day I become more and more unloveable.

Especially as most sex scenes in Game of Thrones involve brother and sister./><<<<3 Tyrion. were i a dothraaki, he would be in a cage to entertain me. idk how you can watch this with your family, the sex scenes would be too uncomfortable with my sisters in the room...

is this weekend. You better all tune in! I'm going to be holding your pokemans and ponies hostage!
Yeah people, if you're not going to watch this show, at least read the books. They're amazing
in their own right, and like Bean said a year ago, this is easily one of the best shows on TV
right now! (Or the internet if you know...you wear an eyepatch and say 'Arrr!' a lot. Haha!)

It kind of reminds me of Lost in that it's constantly building things up to be concluded later, and when it comes to concluding them it's a bit of a let down and its resolved in the least dramatic way possible in order to stretch the story out further.
And every time Rob Stark is on screen I let out an audible groan of displeasure, boredom and growing contempt.
It's frustrating because I've always been a fan of fantasy and have always been frustrated by the lack of truly great fantasy TV and I wanted Game of Thrones to be just that. But they just seem to fuck it up too often. I have no idea whether any of this is a reflection of the books or just the problems they're having with adapting it.

I think that's one of the problems I have. I was told by people who have read the book that George RR Martin is unafraid to kill off major characters, which I think it's good. There are lots of characters in Game of Thrones who I want killed off. But so far only one major character has been killed and that was the first season. Another minor character dies in season two but he was such a completely pointless characters whose involvement in the plot never really amounted to anything./>
One of the problems with the show is the excessive cast of characters, most of which are actually really tedious. I spend most of my time waiting for one of the Lannisters to come on the screen, or Arya or Littlefinger or Vaerys. The rest just don't interest me and a few of the really central ones annoy me to hell (Rob Stark, Daenrys, John Sno).

Should have spelt it Varys. He's also known as the Spider and is the bald eunuch guy who seems to be the only character with a complete picture of what's going on./>who is vaerys again?
