I guess licensing is an issue....but man, I really, really wish they'd issue some things out on DVD. Like Power Ranger seasons, Pokemon, and Digimon. It's actually astounding that such popular series were never released on DVD in order to cash in on extra money + popularity. Especially when the newer seasons are coming out like clockwork (especially with Power Rangers).

If you look at a lot of shows, they have been released on DVD...at least once. And they have made no money doing so.
Hell, look at the Powerpuff Girls. The show was released all at once and even kind of had a cheap way of being released (dual sided DVDs) and it's out of print. And that was just two years ago.
It'd be nice if everything came out on DVD...buuuut it's not profitable, DVD is inevitably going to die in a few years anyways (if not physical media in general), annnnd you can find just about any series you want online anywho.

/>Medabots~. That makes me think of Zach Bell, too. :D
Spaz: No, they just suck.
Kids programming these days focuses mainly on keeping your attention with flashy lights and poorly developed plotlines that are mainly around for the humor. In my opinion, at least. There are a few decent ones tucked in among all the junk, though. (-is thinking mainly of Phineas and Fern-)
My case in point: The "remastered" Mighty Morphing Power Rangers. An attempt to get today's generation interested in the best season of Power Rangers ever by 'remastering it' and making it 'better than ever'. How? By making neon signs that say "POW!" flash in the middle of the battle. Seriously. I was so disappointed.
Agreed, although there are exceptions here and there, I for one still love The Tick and The Terrible Thunder Lizards. The Tick had some adult humor in there, might be the reason....I can even remember jokes related to Freud and such, kids wouldn't understand./>It seems to me that the only shows that are still consistently good 10+ years later are the slapstick cartoons like Looney Toons and Tom & Jerry. "Serious" shows like the aforementioned Power Rangers and Swat Kats are just corny now.
I AM THE HARBRINGER OF THE SPICY ROOSTER APOCALYPSE!
I AM A HYDROGEN BOMB IN A NECKTIE!
I HOLD THE FLAMES OF A THOUSAND COLLAPSED STARS!
I AM...BOBRACHA!
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power, derives from a mandate from the masses!

I've said many times over the years that when I grow up I want to specialize in re-creating childlike toys for adults. All those fun things that we can't play with anymore because we're not small enough.
That's one of my many life goals. XD

And the best part is, that one's actually attainable, if you have the money. All you need is an empty swimming pool and the balls, which they sell at Walmart in packs of 100. :3
