We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I was looking for a clip from a cartoon to post on somebody's facebook page, but couldn't find it. I did, however, find the whole episode. Since it was the only way I was going to find the clip, I took the burden upon myself to watch the entire episode for the few seconds that I actually wanted. It was grueling.
However, I realized a few things along the way...
I remember bits and pieces of this episode from when I watched it as a child, but obviously most of the humor was beyond me. I'm a little surprised at just how political this episode actually was. They make fun of current (for the time) and former political figures. An ex-U.S. president with alzheimers lovingly describes American values to a teddy bear, and a Teddy Kennedy. And most telling was the not-so-subtle stab at socialism in the form of the TV censor, who tries to rid the world of cartoons. My favorite joke was the "desert storm action figures." You'll have to watch it to see what I mean.
I'm buzzing a bit from nostalgia, so I can't actually tell if this was too smart for kids, or too stupid for adults, or just plain terrible political commentary. For now, at least, I think it's bloody brilliant.

Stick around for a minute with this one. You'll know it when you hear it.
