Its not like they do that arbitrarily. Multitudes of experience have told that the game is generally more fun and better rounded with such things excluded.

This is what I hate about competitive Pokemon. The metagame just takes all the fun out of battling. No Quick Claw? No Fissure? Whatever man, that's not Pokemon anymore.

The only 'metagame' things I like using is what official tournaments use, and most of it is taken from the official tournaments (Or vice-versa, more probably). Otherwise I agree.

Updated the first post in regards to the rules.
Battling on the actual games for a platform will be optional, and can be used interchangeably with Shoddy (so you could some battles for your challenge on Shoddy, and some on the DS,) however, bear in mind that the functionality of DS battles will be dependent on Hyperlisk.
Because many clauses cannot be enforced outside of Shoddy, to keep the battles consistent between platforms, only the Species Clause will apply.

Also, I was thinking alternatively you could just steal someone's save and use PokeSav to make the teams, then just give me the save file to trade to you, since I'm not online as often now.

Like download a save file and edit the team in PokeSav. PokeSav is pretty straightforward.

Also, an amendment to rules has been made. You may fight up to three different gym leaders daily, though each only one time.

Yeah. Really, you can change your team as much as you like. The only thing is, you have to get all the badges with an identical team, so if you beat a leader and then change it, you would have to beat that leader again with the new one.
As you haven't won yet, you have nothing to lose, so go for it.
