Speaking of Ender's Game...

I find this to be hilarious.

I remember reading about that last year before it was released. Yeah, seems kinda silly. I don't know what to think of that book....

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Just finished reading through the Air manga (only 2 volumes long). The ending was unexpected after watching the movie and series. Is it wrong of me to be disappointed that Misuzu didn't die? I don't hate her by any means; I was just expecting that to happen, and it never did.

Just finished Poul Anderson's The Boat of a Million Years a few days ago... I must say, quite a great read, really.. Really something different. I highly recommend it to those of you who can stomach a novel that is historically accurate.

Last night I finished Arthur C. Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama. What an amazing book. Pretty soon I'll either start on his The Snows of Olympus: A Garden on Mars or Jules Cashford's The Moon: Myth and Image (Gasp! Non-fiction!)

I was thinking about getting [u]Rama II, but my good friend Swifterknuckles said it wasn't as good as the first, and the dust cover didn't make it sound any better.

I need to start reading things again. Y'know, other than homework. I think I've still got bookmarks in 3 or 4 different books that I finished and quit reading for whatever reasons. *checks the titles*
Ah, yes. DUNE: House Atreides, Myth-gotten Gains, Fellowship of the Ring, and The Silmarillion. I really want to get back to the Silmarillion after one of my irl friends told me it's his second-favorite book of all time (can't remember if he told me his favorite). *shakes fist at unusual school and work schedules*

Oh man! I love the Myth series! It's been so long since I read it, but I remember just laughing and loving it the whole way through.

What's this? Someone else has actually heard of those? Crazy awesome.
Unless there's been another new one, I've read them all except Myth-gotten Gains and Myth-chief. So far I've been happy to find that the new co-authored ones are actually not bad. The first four are still my favorites, but I can't remember not liking any of them so far.

Ekans has only read the first four or five, and it was years ago. Ekans wants dearly to read them again, but not at the expense of ordering online.

Like I said, those first ones are the best, but the others are worth tracking down. If you don't feel like parting with your money, libraries are always an option.

EDTI: As far as I know, there are 18 books so far, 12 written just by Robert Aspirin and 6 that he co-authored with Jody Lynn Nye.

Ekans should have been more clear. The library doesn't carry them.

Got volume 4 of the Haruhi manga today. It was pretty much just the Mysterique Sign and Remote Island Syndrome stories, but it had some extra stuff at the end of Mysterique Sign. One of the other eight people who saw the logo before it was corrupted was Kyon's grandmother. He and his sister go to a family reunion sort of thing to find that she's disappeared, so Kyon has to rescue her without any of the other brigade members there to help.

Just finished reading Nobody's Prize, which is the sequel to Nobody's Princess, both of which are written by Esther Friesner. They were awesome fictional books about Helen of Troy. I thought they were amazing, aside from the end. :)

We had to read over sixteen novels for my last class (span of 7 weeks), so I've decided to take a break from the normal type of reading and instead focus on textbooks. Joy! :]

Currently reading Nutrional Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Immunology, Principles of Neural Science, and Calculus Early Transcendentals (part of my class).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

'Cause....I'm in a first year seminar class....that is "The Re-Reading of the Harry Potter series"

At least now I'm finally finishing the series since I only read up to the 5th book before. Quite enjoying the class.

I'm reading Liars and Saints by Maile Meloy (yeah...she's Colin's older sister, the only reason I own the book).

It's decent, so far. I haven't gotten much into it, not my usual kind of reading...but alright. I'll probably try and get through it though.
