I don't think I get Wes Anderson. I really enjoyed Rushmore and bits and pieces of his other films but overall he leaves me feeling a bit "meh".

I guess I can understand that.

I think the only two movies of his I really ever did truly enjoy a lot were Rushmore, which I love, and Fantastic Mr. Fox, which I found incredibly enjoyable.

I don't really remember The Royal Tenenbaums enough to say anything, and I've never seen Bottle Rocket or the Life Aquatic. I enjoyed a decent amount of Darjeeling Limited, but not enough to love it.

I think Moonrise is probably my favorite of his films now though. Maybe because I haven't seen Rushmore in a while, but I think it's even better than that. I think it has all my favorite elements of Anderson. The creativeness/beauty of the worlds he creates, the camera work, and the line it tip toes between cartoon and reality. I think it's worth a watch even if you have thought of him as "meh". The adults casting (Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, and Tilda Swinton) are all wonderful and make it really worth it.

watched Child's Play 3. the whole movie is reprehensible, but the puppetry with Chucky is fantastic. if the rest of the movie had as much effort put into it as the puppetry did, it would be academy award material.

I finished Book 3 of Avatar earlier today. I had forgotten about the Melon Lord bit. Fun stuff. :p

Also, I just saw The Amazing Spider-man in Imax. Much better than Spider-man 3. I'd say more about it, but I'm kinda tired.

So I was recently given access to a Netflix account and have been making god use of it. After using it to watch Books 2 and 3 an Avatar (I have the first on DVD), I attempted to watch some Beast Wars, but the mid-90s CGI was painful.
Next up was a FLCL marathon last night. I had never seen the whole show before, and I kind of have no idea what the heck I was watching, but I guess it's supposed to happen that way.
Presently I am starting the first episode of Gurren Lagaan.

So I pretty much marathon'd through Gurren Lagann, getting through most of it yesterday and finishing up this morning. It was pretty epic. And idiotic, but in a fun way.

I tried a few episodes of Casshern Sins after that, but...eh. Not my flavor.

EDIT: Time to give Orphen a try.

Out of boredom and being alone at home, I am watching the first episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I am surprised at how much it piques my curiosity. If only it weren't 173 episodes.

Odd as it sounds, I'm spoiled by tv shows that get cancelled.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

I feel the same way. It's so hard to get into a show that is incredibly long and I am not currently watching.

Bee has been watching Buffy, and I never have really watched watched Buffy. But she was watching some episodes while I was doing something else and now it makes me want to watch the whole show...but hour long episodes, about a million of them. Blah.

Someone told me recently-ish that I ought to watch Buffy. I can't remember what we had been talking about that inspired the suggestion. Maybe we were poking fun at Twilight, and I mentioned that I haven't seen much of anything with non-sparkly vampires. That sounds likely. Either way, I haven't seen any episodes, and I forgot about it until I read Monkey's post.

Just started watching Mad Men. The first episode lived up to my expectations - already there has been some interesting nods to very important moments in the history of advertising that I'm able to media geek over.

Hehehehe.

Watching Season 1, episode 1 of Alias again. =D

I need to start timing this stuff better, to get more people hooked on this show. I succeeded in getting two friends at college to watch the first season in its entirety with me two years ago, but even so. XD
