I agree with Stars. I miss making games, I just never have the time to perfect the story.
I make the same misstake everytime.
I make like a 1 sheet plot, then I start working on the world layout for the starting zone and I start building, then I get to the realization that the concept won't hold uyp on the full scale map, or the stoy, and While rewriting I have a gap in progress due to time limitation from work and playing other games, and the whole project just starts collecting dust

I wonder, are the rules for this like NaNo, where you're allowed to plan and outline things as much as you want ahead of time as long as you don't start an actual project file until the contest starts?

I don't think they could knowing you planned something or not. But you also have to implement a certain "twist".
It already started though so it doesn't much matter.
