Foreword - I'm doing this on another site as well, so if there's any tie up, I'll remark that, no sense doing the same thing twice.

So, I've gotten kind of bored with life, as there's only so long I can go without doing absolutely anything.

As a result, I've decided "I'm going to try to do something."

The question is... what do I do?

Well, the answer... is up to you!

In this thread, you can challenge Leggy to do something, whether it is to learn a skill, do a specific workout, or eat a specific amount of food. It can really be anything... within reason.

An example of something that is within reason - "I challenge you, Leggy, to run 5 miles consecutively." I won't tape it, as I do not have equipment for that, but I will do something like that.

An example of something that isn't within reason - "Learn how to play 'Through the Fire and Flames' on a trumpet." This is unreasonable for two reasons. One, I'm pretty sure it's impossible. Two, and most importantly, I don't even have a trumpet, and I don't have much money. Things requiring me to shell out a lot of money are out of the question unless you send the money. :P

If you don't know if something is acceptable, just post it in here. The worst I can do is say that your request is unreasonable. But I will only do that if I cannot find a way to do said challenge.

Most of these challenges will be done on the honor system, as I lack video recording equipment outside of a camera phone, which can only really hold 5-10 minutes of video at a time, and is generally so full it cannot even take that. But on my honor as me, I will attempt each challenge.

If I attempt your challenge, and I fail, I will remark that I have failed it, and put it on a list of failures. If I succeed, I will put it on a success list. Why? If I succeed, I want to leave a record that I did what I was challenged to do. If I fail, I want it to serve as a reminder I can always do better. And this way, I can go back to a challenge I once failed, and hopefully succeed at it on a second attempt.

This is as much for me as it is your entertainment. Go nuts with your requests. I am bound to reject many requests, as there are presently things I cannot do, no matter how much I like. But as long as it is reasonably possible within my financial and physical limits, I will do my best to attain your goal.

Below are said lists.

Challenges in Progress
Run 2.5 Miles in 12 minutes/Do 45 Pushups/8 Hanging Pull Ups

Knit MonkeyPro scarf.

Build a mini-torsion catapult

Basically spin in circles and try to break my record at spinning in circles.

Successful Challenges

Failed Challenges

Let the Leggy Challenge... BEGIN!

Nit a MonkeyPro scarf and display for all to see. Perhaps a prize in a competition for later.

It's both a great thing for Monkeypro, and ytou get to learn nitting, a skill I have heard should be both time consuming and relazxng.

Hm, I haven't pushed myself for speed in a long time (once ran sub 18 5k in high school) And I've only run one 4:50 mile (which is roughly how fast I'd have to run) in my entire life.

This will take some doing, if I can ever accomplish it, but I'll definitely try.

As for becoming a Navy Seal, I'll have to decline that. Even if I could feasibly do that, I have no interest in a life in any section of the United States Armed Forces. Cop out, I know, but I'll have to decline that portion of your challenge.

Hm, this is a curious one. I'll have to learn the whole knitting thing, and actually get good at it, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

-----

I should mention, outside of MP, where I have started this, I have a few other challenges that are very time consuming. One of which is to get a book published to Amazon.

It looks like I'm going to be chasing a wide variety of goals. This will either kill me or make me an extremely well rounded person.

I really like this idea. It's pretty cool. I hope you do well. If I think of something, I'll post it.

I've yet to determine what the first thing I'm going to attempt is. There's a lot of interesting tasks between the 2-3 sites I've set this up on.

My biggest challenge, ironically, with this, is going to be choosing which ones to go after first. I obviously plan to go after them all, but I think it's absolutely key that I succeed early, to give myself momentum. It's always easier to tackle goals when you have confidence in what you are doing.

In that vein, the "easiest" challenge I have received is to go running each day before 9 AM, for a week. For me, this is a challenge, because I have a delayed sleep phase where I basically go to sleep a little before 9 AM each day. Effectively, to run before 9 AM is to run when I'm basically ready for sleep, in the cold wintery terrain of New Hampshire.

It is "easy" because there's little condition, outside of that. It's all about effort at that point, and how much I want this goal to be accomplished.

put your phone on selfie mode. the while focusing on your face, look at the phone and spin around in circles. count how many it takes before you get dizzy, then try to break that record.

Given how simple this is, and knowing my propensity for getting dizzy, I might do this one relatively soon, and actually be able to record it too, provided I don't spin for 5 minutes straight.

Just to set it straight, what are the disqualifications for this challenge, as in, when does the record end? Is it when I fall to my knees/back or is it when I leave a certain radius?
