Hello community!

I want to know if the resources at monkeypro.net/resources.php are free to use even commercially.

I have looked around and I can't find anything related to licenses, in the forum or in the site itself. I guess what I'm asking is if the resources are public domain.

Thank you for your help!

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

The safe answer for most of the resources is probably "no," I'm afraid. A lot of them are taken from existing games, and we don't have license info on most of the original resources to know if they're free to use for commercial projects. You're best bet is to check the official RPG Maker forums. I'm sure they would be able to point you toward some free resources that you could use.

They're almost certainly not in the public domain. But we won't tell if you don't.

As Stars said, no.

Most of the resources on MP are either OrochiWeapon/Tani/Paradiro/First Seed Material/Theodore/Official RPG Maker artwork. The resources on MP are more of just an archive of stuff. You can reach out to them to see if you can use them, but as far as I know Tani/Paradiro are dead to the internet (and I wouldn't know how to get a hold of them, I wish though), I don't know who OrochiWeapon is, First Seed Material/Theodore are Japanese, and I doubt you can use the official artwork without a license.

Sorry.

If you don't mind could I ask as to what you were planning on using these for?

Yeah I highly doubt anyone is going to know/care.

The stuff that's custom to MP (Tani/Paradiro) I highly doubt would ever see it (and if they do and complain maybe they'd come back? Win win). First Seed stuff I see in commercial stuff all the time, same with official RPG Maker junk.

First Seed Material is free to use, as long as you properly credit it. Or at least, that was my understanding of it, from second-hand accounts. I don't read Japanese so I can't verify that one.
