About time we have a topic for this I guess.

As you can see there was a Nintendo Direct going over a bunch of stuff. Like how the 3DS version will come out this summer and the Wii U one will be out this Winter.

Some interesting things:

  • Charizard and Greninja!
  • No more character transformations. Zelda/Sheik and Samus/ZSS are now separate characters. Except I guess Lucario still gets to Mega Evolve (final smash maybe?).
  • Some characters move sets have been changed, and characters who used to transform obviously have new moves.
  • A bunch of new items/assists. Like the Masterball.
  • Customization move sets when playing friends.
  • Megaman's final smash is him, X, Trigger, Megaman.EXE, and whatever the Megaman from Starforce is called shooting all at once. Which is awesome. Megaman is so awesome. I hope including Trigger and everyone else is a big FU to Capcom for not making more Megaman games (like Legends). sigh~

I want to love Nintendo again, but I just can't. Too much heartache there. There are other series I would much rather see on the 3DS than this. Advance Wars, anyone?

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Advance Wars would be cool but I don't see the complaint. It's not like they have unlimited resources, and they have a heavy release schedule for the 3DS. They just did re-release Advance Wars for the Wii U, so you never know.

I just made a large rant on RotW, and you can read it if you're interested, but suffice it to say, I'm pretty sure I have no interest in the Wii U version. It's missing a lot of the features that make the 3DS one look great, even though I wish I could play all of the stages. C'mon Namco.

Just because the Wii U version doesn't have Smash Run doesn't mean it won't have anything comparable. It will probably end up having more modes than the 3DS, they're just not announced yet.

But Smash Run does sound kind of cool.

I'm sure it will, but more than that, I'm just not very interested in owning the same game twice. Essentially what you're paying for as a $60 level pack that isn't compatible with the other level pack.

I suppose that makes sense, assuming that the Wii U version isn't vastly different than the 3DS version.

I'm just not exactly sure how much I'd ever want a fighting game on a portable, or one that doesn't have local multiplayer without everyone owning a system/potentially the game (although Nintendo is pretty good when it comes to download play).

Oh. I hadn't thought about that. I've actually gotten so used to only playing games online with Billy that it never occurred to me that I might want to play something locally. Now I have some tough decisions to make about my life.

Sadly there is no central California location. Everything there will take me 3+ hours. It's my birthday the first day, they should just have one here.

Huh, I thought they'd be all over Cali. I guess they figure if you wanted it that bad, you'd just go to E3.

Most of the ones in California are near E3.

California is pretty huge. The Best Buys that are holding these are near the bigger cities (like San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Sacramento, San Jose). I was hoping there would at least be one near me, since Fresno is one of the biggest cities (bigger than most of the cities this is taking place in) and so there would be a centrally located one in California.

There's one location in Kansas, but it's up near Kansas City, which is similarly about 3 hours from where I live.

There's one location in Arizona, and it's where I used to live two years ago. Didn't expect there to be one in Flagstaff since it's a small community, but knowing that there is one in the state even worse. I'd rather there were nothing in my state than to have it held just out of arms reach.

Lucina, Robin, and Captain Falcon.

Robin can be either Male or Female.

Ok, so I have not played any Fire Emblems games yet even though they greatly intrigue me. I have a generally understanding of many of the prominent characters and I know who Lucina is. But...who is Robin? And why can they be either sex?

How do you know who Lucina is but not Robin?

Robin is the main character of Fire Emblem Awakening. They can be either sex because you get to pick.

Ah. That makes sense. Pity they never did that with Pokemon Trainer.

I probably heard about Lucina because of Marth, what with them looking alike. All I know about Lucina is that she looks like Marth, so...did I mention I haven't played the games?
