Gardening is pretty much my dad's primary hobby once it's warm enough. And since we move just before winter started, he's got a pretty much a blank slate to start with this year. He's been going wild buying little shrubs and baby trees, and he's probably got plans for flowers. I've already seen some tulips and daffodils blossoming so far.

I had bought 5 veggies/fruits (Salad Blend, 2 Strawberry plants, Broccoli, and Cauliflower). It wasn't warm enough outside, so I re-planted them in pots until it did get warmer. I watered them, but even when I gave them sun, the best I could, it wasn't enough.... they all died.
They were on sale. I'll buy more later. I also plan on tearing up the part of the dirt on the side of the house. Put some nice perennials in there. Get some color too!

i'd love to do some gardening sadly the shared house i occupy with other people has no such garden to speak of... the garden if i can call it that is pretty much barren of any organic habitation
I have no amazing personality traits except the fact I'm British and People don't like my personality.. but i do have a British Accent so at least Some Americans can be angry and oddly happy at the same time.

Everything I've ever tried to grow died.
Our yard's just not all that suitable for it. ):

Try testing the acidity of your soil. You can spread some stuff on your yard to counteract any strong pH levels.

A lot of veggies/fruits are picky when it comes to soil.

fyi: get a bunch of dirt in a cup with a hole in the bottom, super saturate it, and test the water that runs out with a ph strip. some stuff like blueberries need acidic soil, but if you can stick it in the ground and it grows, you're probably fine. grass-fed rabbit poo is the best fertilizer around, but personally, the fact that growing ANY plant helps the planet is good enough for me.

compared to Pennington, home depot's grass seed is doodoo. it has more weed seed, and more fillers in the bag. i tossed some in the muddy part of the yard, and overseeded in some other parts. i'm hoping it'll cut down on standing water since the sumppump empties right in the yard. i tried to scape the land so the rainwater will pool towards the back.

My mom does all the gardening at our house. I've picked up some knowledge from her and helped her in the past. I do like it to some degree and totally plan on having a big garden of my own one day, but bugs scare me, so we'll see how that works out.

Nothing edible you say?

My plants got eaten by the rabbits around here. Assholes. I think I'll try a raised garden bed.

I currently have a tulip garden going. Planted them at the beginning of winter and let the snow do its work. Used bone and blood meal to make sure they grow big and strong and to keep the critters away. Admittedly if I was looking for vegetables and found some smelling of blood, I wouldn't touch it either. The one thing I do not like is that I cannot tell if they are alive or not. Really hope they made it through the winter.
Not "conspiracies". Conspiracy. Singular.

I have a friend who raises bees and she is reminding everyone to NOT kill your dandelions that pop up for the next few months. They are a vital source of food for starving bees emerging from their hives.
