I got a boost of creative energy about a month and a half ago and decided to make something. I wanted to make something with my hands. I picked clay as the medium and choose to sculpt my favorite Pokemon!
I was used Air-Dry Clay, by Crayola. I Tried other air-dry clays, but they were too hard to work with. I choose air-dry so I wouldn't have to worry about baking. At the start I had a hard time with the main body. Surprisingly the head, ears, and tail were fairly easy for me. The front legs and feet however are a different story... I swear I spent more time on those than anything else.

I was used water to help with the shaping. The flip side of that meant I had to wait for it to dry a bit before working with it further.

I became impatient and started mixing the colors. I used acrylic paint. I still think the body color is too dark.

This took a total of 7 hours for me to make. This excludes dry time and waiting between coats of paint. Overall I'm happy with it. For my first time I was overjoyed to do something with little to no instruction. I've considered making the other eeveelutions, but I'm unsure if I'll use the same pose. Plus I have to fix my Espeon. My adorable daughter thought she could pet it... before it was dry... and now has half a tail and missing an ear. I'll fix it later.
