This week marked the first official MonkeyPro live stream event! Don't worry if you missed it, you can still find the entire video, as well as the IRC chat log, in this topic:

http://monkeypro.net...l-your-friends/

Coincidentally, or not, Streets913 also broadcast the second MonkeyPro live stream, which you can find here:

Amethyst
A non-traditional choice for MOTW this week. Not because Amethyst isn't a welcome member of our community. Rather, because the only activity Amethyst has had around here lately is BRINGING THE SITE TO ITS KNEES! I guess that's what happens when you make a game that receives some popularity, and mirror it on our servers. But that's OK, right? Every now and then we need a reminder of just how fragile this series of tubes really is.

Game of the Week

Pokemon Reborn
This is, to my recollection, the first repeat offender for game of the week. And it's a well deserved one. Seriously, how often can you say, "high quality," "pokemon fan-game," and "continuing progress," in the same sentence. That's right, just once. This once. Keep that in mind when I assure you that my choice for game of the week wasn't based purely on the massive traffic spike caused by downloads of this game.

What did we watch this week?

Newsroom (TV); The Science of Sex (Documentary); The Da Vinci Code (Movie); Serenity (Movie); The Avengers (Movie); Dexter (TV)

What did we read?

The Wind-up Girl by Paulo Bachigalupi (Finished); Running with the Mind of Meditation by Sakyong Mipham (Finished); The Man Who Killed Boys by Clifford L. Linebecker (Finished); Currency Wars by James Rickards; Cypherphunks by Julian Assange; The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown (Finished); A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin; Snow Crash by Neal Steaphenson

What did we listen to?

NYC by Burial; Smokey Joe & The Kid by Zazou Feat. Hyperman Sage; The Drunken Whaler from The Dishonored Soundtrak; Random Access Memories by Daft Punk

What did we play?

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion; The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim; Retro City Rampage; Frozen Synapse; Prince of Persia: Warrior Within; Myst; Serious Sam: Double D; McPixel; Little Inferno; Little Big Planet; Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

And that's what was up this week! I hope you had a good one!

I didn't know Streets did a livestream. What was it? The link says it's offline now, is it archived somewheres?

I didn't notice Amethyst taking down the site.

Correction: in the what we read bit the Julian Assange book is titled Cypherpunks, not Cyberphunks. Also in the what we listened to Burial is the artist, NYC is the track so it should be NYC by Burial. Same sort of reversal applies to Smokey Joe & The Kid.

It isn't archived. I did it on a whim for two reasons: I could and because I wanted to figure out how to do it for the future. Most of it was just me playing Killing Floor and then I played some LOTRO at the end which was pretty uneventful because I had to do some errands and so not much combat; just a bunch of riding.

We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no further!

Go figure, bean. The first two weeks I double checked the names and titles I wasn't sure of to avoid this very thing. That's what I get for putting this off all day, and doing it before bed...
