Traded in my 3DS for $100 because they are giving double store credit for all console trade-ins. Combine that with trading in a few games that I never see myself playing again and using a 50% more trade-in coupon got me to around $150. Then I busted out a bunch of gift cards that had paltry amounts left on them ($3 - $7) and I closed the gap to around $10 out of my own pocket.

That's pretty boss but why sell a 3DS to get a 3DS XL?

I like the bigger screens and it is built better. Having tried out both the XL feels better when holding it. I wouldn't have done the upgrade I didn't have a way to do it cheap. Heck, I bought by 3DS used for $80 so that was a win when I traded it in.

Ahh, that's cool. I actually have a DSi XL, and if or when I get a 3DS, it'll be an XL too, just because I have very large hands, and the small, squarish design isn't comfortable. But if I already had one I don't think I'd buy an XL.
