Huh, I didn't know there was an option for public polls. Interesting.

I rather like secrecy too since it makes the winner a surprise when it's announced, but I don't mind either way.

The Character Creation Contest #2: Space Exploration comes to a close! I feel we had a nice assortment of variety in the characters that were submitted, even if there were only four. Each of them filled a different role for a space mission and had different motivations. We could almost make our our TV series with them! And now for the big announcement everyone has been waiting for, the winner is...

Inari Tudon by Odon

Briefly want to talk about the voting process. Halfway through I did add a poll since a couple people said it would make voting easier and encourage more people outside participant to vote. Let it be known that the winner was decided by both votes that were submitted via PM as well as the poll. This is because they were identical. Strong chance that there were no new votes in the poll because I added it so late, only giving a couple days for people to do it. At least everyone who voted with PMs ended up submitting their votes again in the poll. Still pondering if I will implement the poll from the beginning with the next contest. With the forums going through a small renaissance there appear to be more people who who vote if there was a poll. But there is something to not being able to know who is winning until the end. It's a problem with real voting with the constant media coverage. I know people who didn't bother voting because based on exit polls, they figured their candidate was going to win or lose anyway.

And we apparently now have a running gag of sorts with this contest. Just like last time my character was tied for first and it came down to my vote. Now I cannot vote for myself so I could either vote for the other leading character giving them the win, or vote for another one to force a tie breaker. As much as I wanted to both times force a tie breaker to be greedy and give myself a chance at pulling out a win, both times the other character that was in the lead was honestly my favorite submission. And as such the break down of who came in 3rd and 4th is easy because, well, you can look at the poll for yourself.

I hope everyone enjoyed the latest Triple C. Next time we will most definitely be doing a fantasy of some sort. First two contests about creating RPG characters and I have avoided fantasy. Go figure. At the earliest the next contest will come up in probably 2-3 weeks. Not only to give a cool off period and prevent these from going too fast and getting tiring, but I am moving back to the States! Woo! Thus concludes the Second Character Creation Contest.

Now does anyone know a way to lock the poll to prevent new votes, but allow it to still be viewed?

Not "conspiracies". Conspiracy. Singular.

Dropped from first place to last. xp Oh well. I liked Inari, so I shan't complain.

Congrats, Odon!

I'm not sure if you can close a poll. I checked the options just now and didn't see anything. Locking the whole topic might do it, but what fun is that.
