It sort of makes me sad that the RP board here has been dead forever. Do not see myself trying to orchestrate an RP either though. What always seems to happen is that everyone gets excited about creating their character, but then things fall apart once it comes time to actually post. This appears to be the bane of any forum based RP. Since the character creation process is the most popular aspect of an RP, I think focusing on that would be cool.

Would anyone be interested in a Character Creation Contest? Essentially a topic or theme for an RP would be chosen then everyone would design a character for it like normal. Then through democratic vote, secret judges, or some other method the entries are judged. Could be serious or silly judging, too. Either way I think it would be fun to have a bi-weekly contest to just let people be creative.

I think we'd be making character sheets rather than sprites, but pictures/sprites might be included, depending on the rules.

I'd definitely participate. I love making characters that never get used for anything. xp

I might possibly participate; it would depend on whether a character idea strikes me after reading the prompt. And how much time I have.

Might be interesting if later, after one or more of the prompts, we use the characters for something completely random...Maybe.

As Stars stated, I was referring more to character sheets. But you could definitely illustrate if you so please. I think we would separate those from any critique though, otherwise a select few artists like Puffin would dominate these things. I am easily swayed by pretty pictures.

The first time we do this we would figure out how much time to give. I'd like to shoot for around two weeks to work on a character. Definitely like the idea of using the characters later for something. I think we should save that discussion for later, that way you don't know how they will be used together. You might end up making the most misfit group with your characters over several contests.

Sounds like our DnD group, except we also have a touch of bizarre and random mixed in.

*plays a two-headed (one normal head and a dragon head), distrustful, split personality gnome (with hide +40 because of his distrusting nature)*

We can start it right away if everyone wants. There is just one decision that must be made. Do you want to A) Have me choose a theme or B) Vote on a theme.
