I finished my exam, had some time to catch the wifi hotspot at my school library and watch.
I'm really surprised at how far the plot has progressed.
I've been wondering about the "Menma can interact with physical objects but Yadomi doesn't ask her to prove her existence in front of all of them" bit. But, I'm glad that she finally showed herself, that everyone accepts her existence, and that they can all stop disbelieving Yadomi.
Love confession time. The Yukiatsu x Anaru part..Ughh. Sometimes I think Yukiatsu is kinda cool, but most of the time I'm still just barely trying to tolerate him. And Tsurumi saw them!
The next/last two episodes should be tearjerkers, I bet.

I found the ending fitting. I loved the anime. I'm glad it wasn't all drawn out. I admit I did cry for the last episode. It was cute while it lasted.

Writing this in a rush before the library closes:
From the director of Toradora, Honey and Clover, and Shigofumi, I expected quite a bit, perhaps too much. AnoHana was hyped to be the masterpiece of the season before it even started.
I don't think it lived up to this expectation. The dialogue/script for the series was at times, either surprisingly poignant or in dire need of several rewrites (seriously, how many times did Yukiatsu say, "Yadomi", instead of actually saying something useful?). The voice-acting was superb though, and the seiyuus did what they could to make the dialogue work. The animation was crisp and amazing, but the characters seemed to fit a few design flaws. And the pacing was unusual, but the OST was fantastic.
The first three episodes, I think, were amazing. But beyond that, the series began to decline in quality, especially when
And finally, the ending was really too melodramatic for my tastes.
I'm critical of AnoHana because I expected so much more, and because I really wanted it to be the masterpiece that it could have been. Still, I give it an 8/10. Enjoyable, but because of its flaws, forgettable.

Wow, see I don't have the insight you have there.
I have to go poking around for a similar anime. It resembles this in the way of drama, but not as mystical. I'll post it once I find it. I somewhat agree with you, though. I had thought the ending would be a bit more closure. I liked it, but wish it could have been better.

I DL'd the Ano Hana OST because it is incredible, and happened to come across this track. Ano Hana didn't get to me emotionally, but for some reason, listening to this song now has made me cry hard. It's such a wonderful piece. Perhaps it just took a few months for everything to sink in.
Download.
And in other news, MyAnimeList has Ano Hana within the Top 25. Hooray.
