you awaken in the intestinal tract of satan. you must defeat the hydra to escape. your only weapon is righteous anger.

Here you go!

I've only been able to really play in 15 minutes stints but I've been really enjoying it lately.

Starting to get somewhere through the quests. I really regret not choosing heavy armour when I rolled my character though.

I've been in a mood to start Oblivion back up, but I can't decide what character I want to play. My first thought was an anti-combat "normal person" who wears no armor and only carries a dagger for emergencies (I think I got the idea when Tony mentioned playing Fallout with a personal code of ethics). Then I remembered that I've wanted to play a sneaky archer for years. Pacifism and sniping seem mutually exclusive, so I'm torn.

For that first character, I had planned to do quests from the towns rather than the guilds to minimize the necessity to fight/run away. But I can see your point. I just wanted to do something different from usual.

Your first idea is kinda taken. Sort of.

http://livinginoblivion.wordpress.com/category/nondricks-non-adventure/

Your second character is.... pretty much the only kind of character I ever play...

If you do, I have two recommendations.

First, use this mod that I made. It makes arrows about 3 times more powerful (that's not as much of a cheat as you might think...), and it increases your sneak attack multiplier as your mastery of sneaking increases. Instead of stopping at a 2x bonus, it goes up 2 points every time you reach a new level of mastery in sneak. For both marksman and melee (melee is stronger). I haven't done any thorough testing with high level characters, and I imagine this makes you a god with a bow once your skills are high enough, but isn't that what you want to be when playing a sneaky marksmany type character? Yes. Yes it is.

Second, use this mod that someone else made.

If you don't already use this one, you should. Thief or not.

I really am going to have to return to Oblivion once I've finished this playthrough of Morrowind.

I'll definitely try the mods you've pointed out, Mr. Parker.

I'm loving that blog. Sounds like what I was planning, but taken several steps farther.

Thanks for the marksman mod, and yes, I've definitely been using No Psychic Guards.

Have any of you seen that video? It's a month or so old now, but I somehow missed it. I dunno... I'm actually kind of excited. For some reason the feel of the tundra in that video just fills me with joy.

Some of the animations still look kind of clumsy. I didn't like the look of the horses, they had that kind of floating above the ground feel. Also the giant troll thing that gets flung by the dragon just kinda goes still as he falls to the ground rather than flailing or tumbling or anything.

As nice as it looks on Xbox I can't help but be a bit worried that we haven't seen any footage of it running on a PC yet. I'll be disappointed if it isn't noticeably prettier on PC considering how old the XBox is.

The xbox and pc cannot be compared in terms of game programming, while the two systems are very similar, they actually use other forms of coding due to their specialised CPU's. But I do nevertheless agree with you.

edit: I think ill install Oblivion again, and use that mod of yours Tony. never had a sneaky character.

Makes it a more neutral playing field. Could be argued that Bethesda have an unfair advantage.

I wonder if I could challenge Notch at a game of Tetris for a small share of Mojangs profits. He'd probably wipe the floor with me come to think of it...
