it helps consoles last longer by giving producers more tools to work with. the president of the SCEA said he expects this generation to last at least ten years.

also the stupid atari jaguar was WAY too expensive to be a practical console in its day.

Jaguar was fifth generation.

Jaguar was cheaper than the Saturn or PSX, and as cheap as the N64.

Saturn was better than the PSX, all things considered, just harder to develop for.

And still doesn't defeat the argument PS2 was the most successful console just LAST generation and had horrible specs when compared to the Xbox or GCN. Which lasted...almost 10 years.

Paper Mario for the 3DS?

I'd be satisfied if this was all they announced.

I became apathetic to the 3DS to super excited for it after seeing Kid Icarus' trailer. It looks so good.

Really? I was excited for it since it was announced. Also:

Capcom

* Resident Evil Revelations
* Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (name not final)

A real fighting game!? *squee*

g4's coverage sucks beyond belief. can they not focus on first person shooters for once? D: (i've been streaming stuff online anyway, meh)

thoughts:

*zelda, skyward sword. caught off guard by the graphics. it looks like a grown up windwaker (twilight princess + windwaker)! i'm pretty excited for this. miyamoto goofed at the conference with the controls, but those playing the demo claimed that the controls responded amazingly well.

*ocarina of time remade for the 3DS! holy crap, this plus the rest of the lineup for the 3DS (mariokart, kid friggin' icarus, etc..) convinced me to buy one.

*kirby epic yarn looked so adorable and fun.

*'donkey kong country returns' definitely surprised me. gameplay looked as if it flowed so well.

*heroes on the move. ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, sly cooper and bentley. whoa. this should be very interesting :3

*also, sony's move > microsoft's kinect

forgot to mention: goldeneye! :D

Wow, I'm actually far less cynical about E3 now than I was before hand. With the exception of valve-related stuff. MERH!!!

Especially Nintendo's showings. I almost wish I had waited to get the 3DS instead of getting the DSi when I needed a new ds... go figure.

And even the wii stuff looks pretty good! Damn. Damn indeed.

Damn, and even Kirby's Epic Yarn looks like fantastic...

Is it possible that I may eventually not regret buying a wii......?

Retro Studios developed side scrolling Donkey Kong?

God. Wow.

Also, maybe I should look at everything before I post anything else.

Portal 2, Halo Reach (yes, I'm oddly interested in Halo), new Pilotwings, Kid Icarus, and all of my other posts....

This is the first E3 in a long time where I want to play just about... everything.

Damn.

New Celda looks damn spiffing!

That Epic Mickey trailer has reaffirmed my belief that the game might actually be able to pull off something quite special. And Warren Spector is always amusing, especially when he says "Holy Cow!"

Miyamoto says that the skies in the game are a tribute to Cézanne. That's pretty bad-ass, no?

Does anyone know if 3DS games will be playable on a regular DS (Obviously without the enhanced features)?

No. That'd be pretty impossible if you've seen the 3DS games. The 3DS is a LOT more powerful than the DS.

I hadn't seen the 3DS games, that's why I asked, but it all makes sense now. That kind of sucks.
