In his favor, the insturctor was upset that we had been sent cats that looked this young in this...er...batch (for lack of a better word). Even before seeing that, our first instruction was to pick names for our cats out of respect for them being once-living creatures.

+++++all friends and colleagues in japan *finally* responded back to tell me they are safe and doing just fine.

-thought saturday was sunday. missed a few meetings as a result..
+turns out that due to the time change, everyone else missed those meetings as well. brilliant!

--dragged to wasabicon. surprisingly, i'm not a fan of cons anymore. The concerts can be amazing if well-known entertainers are pulled, such as Yoko Kanno and Aya Hirano, but this is more often the case for large cons. The merchandise *may* be decent, especially if the items are older (i spotted marmalade boy posters!) or if it's the last day and shops start cutting their prices in half, but the panels, even at a big time con like anime-expo, are often not especially illuminating and i'm not really one to care about autographs or dances or masquerades or gaming etc..maybe I'm just getting older and growing out of this kind of stuff? maybe not..(i still like the idea of cosplaying, to some extent)

+on a whim, i applied for a second part-time job for a japanese news source (in english). hopefully i can help out in some capacity, the editor is a really neat guy.

+finally caught up on almost all of my errands.
-room is still a mess.
+given the size of my room and my cleaning habits, it will only take ten minutes to clean (max).
++trip tomorrow, returning in 10 days! excited. leaving laptop (and internet) behind while i'm gone, but i'll be taking a few books with me. i really need a break from the internet and my computer, and most especially, my flatmates. it'll be a welcomed change.
---i don't normally rant or like to say negative things, but i'll make an exception. for some reason, chili cheese fries remind me of high school, and so when i'm in a nostalgic mood, i'll start craving something homemade or just really unhealthy chili cheese fries. unfortunately for me, colorado tends to suck when it comes to making the latter. i've only found one restaurant in town that actually serves them, and despite forgetting to eat for a couple days, a case in which one may think my food preferences would be altered for the better, i could still taste the bitterness in those fries. my goodness. next time, i'll just cook everything by myself.
