This game doesn't really work in such a limited environment as a forum, but I could see it working over a chat (if it was PM capable) or IRC/AIM or something. The drawback there is it still masks lies to some degree, provided the suspect is quick-thinking, or slow-typing.
The only problem with Skype calls is the difficulty of everyone talking over each other, and of people sounding too similar too each other.
At this point, I'm not sure how we would actually execute the webcam thing, since one person can't cam to a conference on Skype as far as I know.

I've been in Skype chats with 10~20 people in it regularly, and I've never had this problem, ever. Do people usually sound similar where you live? The only problem with Skype calls is the difficulty of everyone talking over each other, and of people sounding too similar too each other.

Oh, I forgot though, it shows peoples icons light up when they're talking, so that should clarify.
Is everyone okay with Skype, then?

IRC would be better than forum posts, but I'd still be hesitant. It can definitely work and in fact I played this game on a dedicated IRC channel. They used Werewolves instead and there was a Bot that served as Moderator. It was fast paced and a game would last 5 to 20 minutes depending on group size and discussion. I forget whether or not there was a time limit to vote someone to lynch or not, and I don't know what the channel is anymore. I'd have to hunt it down.
Basically, of the group there would be two Werewolves and one Seer. During the Nighttime phase the Werewolves would discuss who to kill via PMs on the IRC then tell the Bot who they chose to kill. At the same time the Seer would ask the Bot to reveal the role of one of the players. Then the person who was killed would be made Silent in the IRC for the rest of that game. Then everyone would discuss who to lynch and the decision would be made by popular vote. You tell the Bot who you vote for while not revealing who you are. The vote tally would be public as they were submitted, just not by who. Often this would swing votes because you wouldn't know who to lynch before seeing that hey, that guy already has 5 votes against him, I'll push it over the edge. Game kept going until there were more Werewolves than people or no more Werewolves.
I went there every few days for about a month, but that was 2 years ago. I'm pretty sure than my description was accurate. Games are fast paced, fun, and the Bot was well programmed and kept everything secret. Had to think on your feet. I suppose you could still do it without the Bot with someone playing the role. Fast games like are played in real life is what I'd want. That forum game we had that lasted weeks sucked the life out of itself.
Not "conspiracies". Conspiracy. Singular.

Well you never try to get anyone's attention by saying anything or highlighting us. Plus it's gotten a bit slower since Hyperlisk isn't always on, but if toys or Lazlo or Money shows up, and me and BLU are around, we'll talk. (Money has the unfortunate problem of always coming on when I'm asleep)Every time I go to the IRC I am greeted by...death. Every. Single. Time. It's why I don't got there more often.
And we have a bot in the IRC already. It could probably be set to do things other than flip coins and tell us the weather.

And is IRC the destined platform, then?

Also, I vote yea on the whole do it again thing...
Oh, and IRC is for lurking! You're supposed to join and then never ever leave even if you aren't at your computer. And yeah, highlights are usually a good way of getting attention.
