There was hype? I was not aware of these things ... but I thought Code Geass was rather good. It was a bit too dragged out, but the ending to both seasons was surprisingly awesome. But maybe that's just forcause they both involve C.C. whom is <3

Code Geass is a fairly popular and mainstream show, so yes, everyone hyped it before I had the chance to watch. It wasn't that Code Geass wasn't good, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Also, I'm watching True Tears, another romance-drama. For once, it's a little difficult to predict which person the protagonist is going to end up choosing.

On the last few episodes of Orphen season 2. I changed my mind about this anime -- it got really good after the third disc, and I've been enjoying the fourth disc a lot.

Finished Orphen 2.

I was in the mood to watch Sailor Moon, but my habit lately has been to put on the anime and pay enough attention to understand what's going on, but not watch completely, and my Sailor Moon episodes are all in Japanese. That means I can't perform to my habit, so I decided against them for now.

Then I was going to watch Card Captors since I keep telling myself that I want to watch the entire series, but when I opened the box I saw that I only knew where discs 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were. Which means... I could watch disc one and then have to find the other discs (I know what they're in, but not where they are at the moment), or I could find something else. I chose to find something else.

So now I'm watching Kiddy Grade, which I got a few years ago but never actually watched past the third episode. Yaay.

I call them both the same thing. Cardcaptor Sakura is what I own, so that's what I'd be watching. That, and the movies afterward.

Taking a break from Kiddy Grade (which is awesome by the way) to watch Murder Princess (of which the manga is awesome, and I'm hoping the anime is just as good). Watching it for a bit longer in English before I decide to try out Japanese.

Just saw The Book of Eli.

I must say I'm disappointed. I knew it'd be something like this, but damn, they laid on the whole faith thing pretty heavily.

Synopsis:

Eli is a dude with the only copy of the bible left in existence. An evil dude (I forget his name) running a tiny town after the apocalypse (30 years later) is searching for a bible to use it to control the hopes and minds of the people. Keep in mind that most of the folk left alive are of the new generation, either too young or not born yet when nuclear war laid waste to the place. And none of them can read. So when Eli comes to town and the bad guy learns he has the book, he tries to take it from him. Stuff ensues.

Spoiler: reveals plot twist at the end. Read it if you don't plan on ever seeing it, which I reccommend you don't see it unless you like your Faith. Because to someone like me, it was pretty heavy-handed despite there not actually being a whole lot of dialogue.
They pull the whole blind samurai/daredevil thing and reveal that Eli is blind and the book is in brail, thus doing the bad guy no good when he finally gets his hands on it. the bad guy loses control over his town after losing so many men trying to get the book and the people he ruled over lose their fear.

Double post~

Finished Murder Princess. For a six-episode anime, I was very impressed. :) I liked it just as much as the manga, even if it probably could have gone more indepth into things.

Trying to decide what to move on to next. On one hand, I could attempt to get farther in Kiddy Grade and then take the remaining disc(s) up with me when I head back to school, but on the other hand, I could just as easily take what I haven't watched up with me and watch something else. Hmm... Probably going to just keep watching it anyway because of how awesome it is. =)

Edit: Ended up watching Inuyasha: Affections Touching Across Time, since I took it out from the library.

right now im watching "here come the waves" and im even more confused than before. are characters supposed to be the animals dancing in the forest supposed to be margaret and her one true love? the first part was kinda strange, and reminded me of the old seasame street segments that were so much prog rock. now the rake's song is a bunch of skeletons in trees? what am i missing here? am i supposed to be on mushrooms for this?

Yeah, probably.

I own it, but haven't really watched it since I went to the only two shows where they played Hazards love with that in the background. I feel like it'd be lame to watch just to watch it.

It really feels like something Pink Floyd would do. Except weirder.

i know. it doesnt really add anything to the story for me. i always pictured them all as people. and why are there all these arms flowing around like seaweed? im really starting to wonder about them. normally im in the car, and colin uses some big college word in the song, and im like "kay, ill pretend i know what he means and just look it up later" but here im at a total loss. idk if this is even pink floyd comparable, its just so strange. like something rain man would come up with.

....right now its raining skeleton....and it just switched to purple jewels...

Well Colin Meloy never wanted a movie to be made of it, like The Wall. Here Comes the Waves is more of a trippy 70s visual aid. Or something.
