So I installed those texture packs you recommended, Invince. But I haven't really had a chance to see the difference yet as I've been running through the Tribunal quests.

I got to say that having never done the Tribunal stuff before that I'm really impressed. I always thought there wasn't really much to Tribunal but it's steadily unravelling and I'm quite enjoying it.

And I still have Bloodmoon to play through after that. Happy times.

Come to think of it, I never did play very far into Bloodmoon myself. I'll have to remedy that if I ever start Morrowind back up.

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that frustrated me with Tribunal was the constant and sometimes huge Restore Fatigue effects on some of the bosses. This made it obnoxious to play through with my pugilist character. I think I actually had to go into the CS and remove these effects to finish the expansion. <_<

On that note, Stars, I noticed on my last play through of Tribunal (just a few months ago, in fact), that what when the devs said that Tribunal was meant for higher level players, what they really meant was that boss characters were ridiculously overpowered and unbalanced.

And I say this after having killed Helseth, because he's a bastard, and because I wanted to steal his ring that would make my character ridiculously overpowered and unbalanced. I still died a bunch against some bosses. Yikes.

I never seemed to have that much trouble with the bosses when I used normal characters that used weapons and magic instead of fists and only fists. Even Helseth wasn't too bad (granted I was 100% Cameleon'd at the time~).
Then again, I don't at all recall what my difficulty slider is set to. =/

Yeah, I came up against one boss that's been giving me a bit of trouble. Is Tribunal harder or easier than Bloodmoon?

Thinking back on it, I might have cranked this thing all the way up once I hit the level of godhood, anyway (that's usually around 18, when golden saints start to show up in the wild). That might explain it... I certainly don't remember having that trouble in the past.

Is Tribunal harder or easier than Bloodmoon?

Bloodmoon is actually kinda short, so I recommend exploring every nook and cranny that you can. Even though the main quest is short, there's still a lot to be had from the expansion.

As far as difficulty... Well, the werewolves are real jerks. And there's an early quest in the main quest line that is far too hard for how soon you come across it. But other than that, I think tribunal is the more difficult of the two.

Click for spoilers. Link to the quest I mentioned.

So I've been playing Oblivion lately. >_> <_<
Going through the Fighters Guild quests since I don't think I've ever done the whole thing. Then I plan to do the Shivering Isles since I've never even touched that.

In related news, Zenimax has filed a trademark for an Oblivion movie, so we'll see what becomes of that.

I finished the Fighters Guild a few days ago (I think I had previous done everything except the final mission) and started a new character to piddle around with before going to the Shivering Isles. The thing is, I'm using a custom race that I modded myself, and I'm having some difficulties with it. I had given the race a Sun Damage ability to force them to be nocturnal, which made things interesting for a while, but now it's just annoying, and it makes the Arena downright unplayable (I die before the announcer even yells "Lower the gates!").

I've tried a couple of different things to remove the ability, but nothing has worked thus far. Using player.removeSpell in the console didn't work, removing the ability from the race and using showracemenu didn't help, I made a potion with a custom script that should have removed it but didn't, I can't mod an item with a negative Sun Damage effect to counter balance it, and even deleting the ability from the mod file didn't remove it from my character.

Are any of you familiar enough with the Construction Set to have any other suggestions?

lool when i was a vampire on the ps3, theres a glitch where you cant remove it, and bethesda was all like "middle finger not removing it!" theres no point in being nocturnal anyway...

That kinda sucks...

Maybe just counter-act it with a modded spell that restores your health for exactly the amount that the sun damage takes away? Not pretty, but it might work.

can you enchant an artifact with a constant healing effect equal to the sun damage?

I could probably make something like that. The only complication is that sun damage becomes more and less severe as the sun rises and falls in the sky.

On the upside, I realized that from 8pm to 9pm, the sun is down, and the arena is still open. I would just need to wait 23 hours between battles. It's a bit silly, but it doesn't really affect anything in the game world.

So with the combination of so many Bethesda topics and needing a break from Dragon Age, I've begun installing all of the mods from that Morrowind Expanded site I think Invince linked some time ago. Got about half of them downladed and tested for crashes before going to work, and I'll be getting back on that once I'm home.

I realized earlier as well that I've never played it in 1st person like you're supposed to (except when I needed to aim a bow or a spell). It's weird because I can't stand 3rd person in Obivls, mostly due to the iffy animation.

Even just doing the intro to make sure things work properly has been crazy nostalgic so far.

EDIT: And I really wish they hadn't made Dark and High Elves sound like Wood Elves in Oblivion. The Orc voices bothered me a little bit, but not as much as squeaky Dark Elves. =/

How are you getting on? I keep meaning to reinstall this for the 100th time.

I still haven't completed Bloodmoon and Tribunal. Tribunal actually got too hard for me and it was such a blow to my nerdy ego that I got fairly demoralized. I think I even had to slide down the difficulty slider at one point. The shame of it!

I've barely been able to play while I was sick, so last I played I think I was still bumming around Seyda Neen. Or maybe Suran. No, wait, I got far enough to join House Telvanni and start their first few fetch quests. But more importantly, the game looks crazy different after adding those dozens of mostly visual improvement mods. My only gripe is that the trees kinda ruin the view of the map since all you can see is blotches of green in a lot of places. I'm also rather disappointed that I can't get it to play with...Morrowind Comes Alive, I think it was. Whichever one adds loads of random, ever-changing NPCs. And after reading comments on it, I'm abstaining from the one that tries to give the NPCs schedules.

For now, I'm playing a modified Orc that I've dubbed a High Orc (I started to make a mod, but assigning body parts in the CS was obnoxious). I gave it a magicka bonus, reassigned his stats and skill bonuses, and will abstain from using Berserk. Basically I wanted to play a "High Elf" type of character without having to actually use a High Elf. After finishing Telvanni, I'll take him through Tribunal (so that I can enchant a staff with Almalexia's soul~), then finally do Bloodmoon.
After that I'd like to finally complete the last few factions with a couple other characters. I believe I still haven't finished the Morag Tong, the Imperial Cult, or the Imperial Legion. Oh, and there's all the Tamriel Rebuilt stuff. I'll probably take my High Orc through those.

If you want to have an improved look for the trees, but have fewer of them, install both of the Vality mods (Bitter Coast, and Ascadian Isles), but don't activate them. This will give all of the default trees the new texture, but it won't add anything that wasn't already in the game. I preferred this to the look of the mods when activated.

If you are using MGE, you will have to run it again, though.

I must amend what I said before about having only one gripe.

One of these mods changes the effects of several alchemy ingredients, and I don't know which one is the culprit. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered, but as an Atronach Mage who's not in the Mages Guild, not being able to figure out which ingredients make a Restore Magicka potion is a big deal. D:

This forum was making me pretty jazzed about Elder Scrolls, so I installed Morrowind again. Bethesda games seem to hate my computer's sound though. Sounds and dialogue play fine, but music skips a lot, and it's pretty sad. Maybe I need to update some drivers or some poop. Too lazy to figure it out tonight. DISAPPOINTING.

I've just installed Morrowind and now I'm trying to decide what mods to install. I was kind of inspired by hearing about the Morrowind 2011 project. I downloaded it but I've been looking through it and I'm not sure I approve of most of it. So I'll probably just go through the mods I archived last time I installed Morrowind.

I still haven't completed Tribunal or Bloodmoon.

I started playing Morrowind again using some big list of mods and such that Tony had posted a while ago. The only problem was that one of them (don't know which) changed around the effects of all the alchemy ingredients. I was playing an Atronach mage that was going to rely heavily on potion-making (I even called its class "Alchemist"), and I was too anoyed to keep going when I had stockpiled a bunch of ingredients that used to make Restore Magicka potions and Levitation potions but found that they suddenly didn't react at all. >:'(
(My character had joined House Telvanni and was not going to join the Mages Guild, so both of those were fairly important.)

EDIT: This was going to be the character that I would use to finally finish Bloodmoon...
